Hi everyone! I am a little sorry for can not give you many information because I hardly see Marat today! I tried hard to enter the Tennis Center but the guard is too unnatural. Another muff is I have wasted a half hour in picking up a friend at the subway. So we went there a little later; if we could arrive ealier, we might have more chance for many entered then. So we had to waied out of the gate. When they walked out I tried to photo something but it's stronly foggy so all my photos is nothing but nebulas. They came to the Forbidden Palace and Great Wall this afternoon but the adimition fee is not slim, so we didn't go there. Srichapan went home this afternoon and Marat will tomorrow. My acton may come to an end.
About the presents I have written a head-hiden Chinese Ancient poem (a highly interesting genre of Chinese poem) and I let a friend write it with a Chinese brush pen. My friend's presents is also made by herself (a Chinese knot) and she hands them to a pressman to hand to Safin. I don't fully trust him so I decide to hand by person. Maybe next year, then I have a better handwriting next year so it will be cool!
By the way I want to say a feature of their trip to the theater last night. I get this from TV. They come to watch the Peking Oprea and there are two showed pieces. One is "Farewell My Concubine"(The film from it has won world prestige); a tragedy of famous ancient hero Xiang Yu; another is "Marching West", a famous story of Monkey King named Sun Wukong. When they took photos together he is asked if he understand. He said: "I understand. Sun has stolen Xiang's wife, so Xiang is unhappy." The people around all laughed.

Now it's another day in Chinese (around 3:00 am), I have many things to do, but I don't want to leave this area blank, so I come here and say something. I think many fans are waiting for it, so it's my duty. I have seen some pictures in this forum and I think it may not include some fresh ones, so I'll give some to Ruth; these are mainly from internet. I will put my own later because it isn't in good quality and I will see if I can optimize it.
Then we come to our topic. As I have mentioned, They played shadowboxing in the Temple of Heaven in the morning; but it snowed heavily last night so they cleaned the snow first. In a photo you can see some aunts took photo with him; they may not know much about tennis and not know the players; they stood their because they are attracted by Marat's Charming? I didn't attend there so I can't give more information; but I watched on the National TV that they flied kites there.
From 10:00 I began to pick up the numbers of my team. They came from every corner of the city (some are from Tianjin, another city) I am almost exhausted. We have not enough student ID but we entered at last. Due to the snow they can't show tennis outdoor (Especially Srichapan has a snowphobia) so they mainly play table tennis and badminton. I get the photos from Tsinghua BBS; these are also not clear but can illustrate the activities. Marat is in a pretty fancy T-shirt printed CCCP (I can't make it out but someone said it has relation to the former USSR) They play singles each other, Mix-doubles with guests, and doubles with students and fans, I took fairly clear videos of their table tennis show, but the badminton show is so far away from my seat. Their show is pretty humorous and entertaining. Leonid Nerushenko (I can't affirm but I think probably) played basketball with huge tennis ball nearby but his technics is rather unshaped: he scored only one of the five field throws.
Maybe there are three main regrets during the events. The First is the compere has little experience; she can't speak fluent English and hasn't abilities to control the occasion; secondly there are no tennis in it, so some complain that it's a promotion of table tennis and badminton rather than tennis; Thirdly when the shows end hundreds of fans rushed to the courts and the players (esp. Safin, a girl even kissed him on the sneak) are surrounded by the agitated crowd. Finally the planned interview is cancelled. Anyway, this is a significative activity.
I has no idea about my gift for the following reasons: firstly I'm too busy these days and can't make something by myself; secondly when I organize gift-sending team, less people reply---- maybe they are used to acquiring rather than giving; Additionally I have planned to give him a Russian Version of Chinese culture masterpiece such as "the Analects of Confucius" , but I didn't find a good one. I will talk it with other fans later.

Today I have try hard to enter the press conference in the Internatinal Club, seen Marat in person, got his autograph and taken photos of him. But now I am pretty busy: I must settle my audio (I taped the conference with my MP3, then I can put on the interview later); my photos (I have photoed a score of pictures with my my optics camera); my video (I kinescope it with a borrowed vidicon, and I plan to make a DVD ; Besides my adviser has assigned me a paper by this weekend; And I must orgnize my fans teem, prepare my presents and write something to him: I'm so confused! So I can't type a long one. I may do it after the weekend. But I must say something breifly and you may get some details in sports.tom.com (I dont know if it has any English version but it is the event's web-supporter and their media co-worker is Beijing Youth Daily, one of the best newspaper in Beijing), He has answered five questions and I may type it later. (such as injurys, comments on A-rod and the reason come to Beijing). Srichapan also attended the meeting. Moya has confirmed to Beijing next year. The Beijing mayor, the leader of Chinese sports agency, the vice-prisident of ATP also attended.
Some schedule in detail:
Nov 26: 08:30 playing shadowboxing (a kind of Chinese Kong-fu) in the God's temple;
13:30 playing with students players in Tsinghua University;
18:00 watching Peking Opera in a famous theater;
Nov 27: 10:00 training junior players in Tennis Administration Center;
14:00 visit Olympic Center, the Great Wall, etc.

Last Friday I saw at the Tsinghua BBS that Safin will show on the Eastern Stadium in the campus at 13:30 on this Wednesday. Meanwhile some table tennis and badminton players such as Deng Yaping and Li Lingwei (famous athletes in China) attend the Activity. Unfortunately I am not a Tsinghua student then I must borrow some students ID. I have organized a dozen fans there. Besides I have planned to send him a gift on Thursday morning and the tennis authority has agreed. So we’ll talk about it and I think we must give him a surprise!
Today the local and national TV Station has both broadcast the news. He came to Beijing with a childhood friend and fairly many fans went to the airport. He is in a black jacket and a grey sweater; blue jeans and dark adidas sneakers. Surprisely he has garnered a light moustache. I have also seen the Chairman of the event. He gave a brief interview at the airport. He said: “I am glad back China after a year, and I really like the nation, and I think the origination in Shanghai TMC is pretty good. I am pleased to see another event well be held here because many children can take part in it and enjoy it. And I prefer more tournaments in China.” (I can’t catch his words but this is the main idea.)
Schedule of Some Activities:
Tuesday afternoon: press conference at the International Club on the Wangfujing Avenue.
Wednesday afternoon: playing with some student players
Thursday morning: instructing and training junior players at the Tennis Administration Center
