I dragged my friend Tim along to the tennis and he isnt very clued up about tennis knowledge. We were watching Marat practise and Gumy didnt miss a shot and my friend said " he is better than Marat, why doesnt he play?", that made me laugh, i had to explain to him that it was just an easy practise before Marat's match. He soon saw Marat's talent when we watched him defeat Gulbis and was cheering him on along with me. Another Marat fan to add to the masses there already is!

Guys,those of you who are going to watch. Could someone post a short summary and some of your impressions about his game after the match is over please? I'll have to suffer with the scoreboard but I am very curious to know the details. Despite the outcome

I'm just about to head off to the misery that is work. Been up all night - the body clock is out. Yes, can somebody post a match summary? I'm recording the match ... but the SKY planner has invariably let me down over the years.

I think I can make a little summary. I think I will be able to see at least the biggest part of the match ;D! Got to study too.. rather watch Marat though! I think I'll choose for the last one !

One thing with the AO and me is that whenever Marat has played in the night session - I suddenly get sick all of a reason and am unable to go to School - today's one of them day - im the boy who cryed Wolf. ;D ;D

Cant wait i have the aniticipation this will be a good match and hopefully Marat will prevail.!

Well, for me the AO is over, I don´t care about it anymore!
I really sad!
But, at the same time, it was good to see Marat fighting and trying!
I don't really know what to say, in portuguese a game like this we call it Morrer na Praia, in english, die on the beach!
Because, you fight to survive, to get to the beach, and then when you're on the sand, you die!
It was what happen!!

Marat lost 46 46 62 63 26 !

BUT it was the best match I have seen in such a long time! He fought till the end but it just seemed as if he lost his concentration a bit in the fifth. He was just playing such great tennis in the 3rd/4th, that, in my opinion, it looked like he couldn't believe it himself!

He had some wonderful backands AND forehands down the line, although I think he could do a lot more of those in the future. His feetwork in the beginning wasn't good enough, because Marcos took the ball really quick, which was hard for Marat. But he found a solution for that and took over the game, which I think was the key. He made so many good points, just unbelievable. If you could just see the match, you would see how great he was playing. He has really improved and I am wondering what his interview is going to say. Hope he is not too dissapointed!

He served great as well, although in the beginning his first serve % wasn't that high but it improved a lot during the game. You could really see that he grew into the match. He didn't make one double fault.

His net approaches were ok. He did a falling-backhand-volley again! The audience was loving it.

Forehand is in my opinion the weakest side. He did make some marvelous shots but in the end I think he made the biggest errors with his forehand! But that can be improved.

My tv-commentator said: 'He belongs in the top 20 AT LEAST. Just lost his concentration in the end.' He felt great about Marat's tennis. So do I! He improved a lot!

Sorry that you lost Marat, but the tennis you played was just GREAT! Keep your chin up and everything will come.

Don´t be sad that Marat loose! He was playing agreat match! And he was fighting a lot! he doesn´t want to loose, you could see that!!!!And that´s important!!!! He had enough selfconfidence!!!!!!!!
Maybe I will see Marat playing at the DC in Moscow, because I will be in february in moscow again!!!We ( my little son and me) will fly the 1st february to moscow and we will stay there for 11 days!!!!I hope I will get tickets, because I can´t order them . I´ll try to do that at ticket russport, but they don´t answer me!!!Maybe anyone knows if it will be enogh if I will buy the tickets directly at Lushniki stadium at the 1st february! Do you think they will have enough tickets. Does anybody knows if I also have to pay for my 3 years old son??
