Dear ruth and other Tgrfs,
I have been having a virus problem. This would not be wierd or different if it did not originate after I have had my e-mail addy posted on the web site. I dont know if this is happening to other tgfrs who who have volunteered to work on the site, maybe im just imagining things and its just me. I just want to warn people. I have gotten a suspicious e-mail that did contain a virus from one safinaferrero. Im not saying it is the one from here and Im not accusing I just want to make people aware. Thank you for your time.

Well I got a suspicious e-mail from tgfr website, but it happend before this whole webmonkey thing, so I think it has nothing to do with it. Anyway, there was a weird addy, but I'm using the hotmail, so the addy had been blocked.

Yes similar happened to me, I received an email from a member, BUT that member HAD NOT sent me the email. We do not know how it happened. But I was lucky because my Norton anti virus protection do dar deleted it.
I may be because my email is no hidden, but is available in the profile, actually, I was trying to hid it but was not successful, so if someone can remind me how to go in there and edit, u know, hid the email address?
PS... this was just last week,

Do you guys think it's because our e-mails are not hidden...? Well, I'm no computer expert at all (quite the contrary) but I guess that may be the reason.

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond, I haven't been online, but I got your PM's about this. Unfortunately, it sounds like a robot/spider has been scanning this board (and probably all the registered proboards) looking for listed email addresses and sending virus from one fan to another using one of the fans email addresses. I myself have had a few too! It's a really annoying thing but here are my suggestions: 1) If the email address of the virus is slightly different to the fan real email address, then block the address. 2) Choose to 'Hide your email address' in your profile. This may help, but it's not always 100% 3) Open another free email account with someone like yahoo! and use that as the email address for use on this board. Then all the junk will go to the new email, while your original address can be for genuine emails only I'm really sorry about the inconvienience, but there's nothing I personally can do about it for you guys. And it is no individual fans' fault and absolutely nothing to do with the webmonkeys etc. It's just one of those annoying internet virus/worms that has latched onto this board.

Its okay Ruth, I know there is nothing u can do, and I certainly do not blame any member, shit happens, and we just have to deal with it.

Noemi, you probably found the virus with some antivirus program... So can I ask what was the name of the virus?
