Young Macedonian pop singer Tose Proeski tragically died yesterday in a car accident.. He was very popular not only in Macedonia but in the whole region.. This was a huge shock and I still can't believe he's gone.. He was like an angel, with a powerful voice and a beautiful smile.. We'll always remember him.. May he rest in piece

A bomb exploded in one of the more popular and up-scale malls in a nearby city. I used to go there all the time with my friends when I was still studying. 8 people had died already so far and almost 90 people were hurt from the blast.

OMG! I'm so sorry annie! but where did that happen? hey, sorry i didn't reply soon enough...it was a mall called Glorietta-2 or G-2 for short. Anyway, in the end there were 11 people who died, mostly those who were having their lunch break, their offices were only across the street from the mall...and some were shop employees...the last of which was found under a fallen wall after three days. and there were more 90 people who were hurt. there's controversy surrounding it, because the property owner's private investigators said it was indeed a bomb, but government investigators said it had something to do with the building's construction...but the mall has been there for 15 years and nothing like this ever happened...so...

Darn...i feel like every month i post something negative here. But, I was just really worried and a bit scared last thursday. If you haven't been watching the news, something has happened again where i live. There was a stand-off from a group of rebel soldiers in one of the hotels in Makati City (Philippines) and they were demanding for the president to step down, and proposed a sort of caretaker government with a leader of their choosing as head. It didn't work out, and they were reprimanded by the authorities.
The scarier part was that the government declared a curfew (from 12 to 5am). This wouldn't have bothered just anyone, but see, around 30 years ago something like this has happened already and eventually Martial Law was declared and I was worried that it was going to happen again. Thank goodness the government called it off after one day. It was really scary during those times all those years ago...I didn't personally experienced it (i wasn't born yet then) but from the stories I heard and read, it was terrible with a capital T.
I'm glad it didn't turn out that way. Thank God.

hey annie!!! i have just read ur post, and ironically i remember reading about it in the Gaurdian.....however it sounds alot more scarier when someone you know is telling yo about it......i cant imagine a curfew in the UK....i am glad it was over by the next day.....
i was in paris at the start of dec and they were (are still i believe) having strikes against workers right which led to a lot of riots in the city while i was there. It has been along time since there were any riots in the UK so it was completely new and weird feeling to me!! Kind of a scary overwhelming excitement bcos deep down you know how serious this all is and how hugly important to society it is!! i dont know how to describe it !!!

I hear ya! It is scary when these kinds of things happens. I mean, you could just be walking on the streets, and suddenly there's a riot erupting. There's no telling what could happen to you especially if things escalate to something really violent.
Just always be careful and stay away from those places.
