hummm...emma,i don't think that you have reasons to feel like that!  i think everybody has a right to support any team they want...before the game started,i was supporting brasil,then,as the game was going further,i started to support french team...after they won,i'm not sure anymore... i thought i would be supporting portugal and italy all the way...now,if french team reach final,i might be supporting them! ;D ;D ;D especially because zidane is going to retire aftre this  speaking about retirements,i'm not sure whom i would have supported,if marat & agassi had happened to play against each other  i totally understand you were supporting french team at davis cup after marat had finished his match  . i'm not sure whom i would support in that case  . my support,except when it comes to marat ,mostly depends on the moment and the persons,players and their game...like tennis for example-djokovic will have my support all the way,before he plays marat,if he plays him again...but pashanski,tipsarevic... not always...i won't support them just because they're playing for my country should i feel bad because everybody were sending  smileys in dina's thread,when ana ivanovic defeated her? i don't think so...[btw,i was supporting ana,if that wasn't clear ] and emma,you're so right about some people being rude...i sent a message to josh & joske and they have never replied! so.... GO ITALY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!FRANCE VS. PORTUGAL...hummm |

It has taken me a long time to post here but here goes I can´t believe it ... England lost..    I´m so sad and totally shocked...  Sorry Sabz  Gosh I dreamed about Germany and England in finals   firstly thanks reese - you are an absolute sweetie!! (and it did make me feel a bit better!) and i also dreamt of a germany england final shame it cant happen now  another quater final - another loss, and on penalties AGAIN!!!  will england EVER learn how to take a penalty!! I am GUTTED that england are not thru - i definately thought that this was the year that we could have done something! guess i was wrong. Rooney - WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING!!! i knew that hot head of his will get him into trouble eventually! but i have to say, even with 10 men, england did look the better side so well done for that (dont think that is much consolation tho! ) Beckam what a sad way to end his role as england captain. limping of the pitch he has been a great captain, but i think he made the right decision to step down (i vote for gerrard or terry to be next!!  ) Now i am a BIG manchester united fan and i was so ANGRY by the way ronaldo acted!! how immature can you get!! i have to say, altho i admit wat rooney did was rong, ronaldo didnt help - infact i think he was the reason rooney got sent off!! n that little pat on the back n that smile - wat was that about!! i always liked ronaldo, but now i hope he goes to real madrid, coz after watchin the news, i feel the same way - ronaldo aint welcome here in england!! I was so preoccupied with the whole england match, that i didnt realise that brazil are out!!  what the hell is goin on!! i didnt see the match so i wont comment, but i was shocked!! portugal v france dont really care to be honest!! as long as either germany or italy win, i'll be happy!! (k i think i feel a bit better now ) |

Emma, I think maybe it's more of a question of people being for Brazil rather then against France. I admit that becasue I have travelled all my life I don't really feel loyal to any one country even if I was born in Paris. When it comes to football my support goes to the players that I like. becasue i watch alot of Italian football both for pleasure and work it makes sense that I am gonna want to see my favorite players do well for their national team. This is why I support Italy and Brazil. As it happens the only two players on the French that I actually like are Zizou obviously becasue the man's a legeend and Henry becasue he plays for the club team I support Arsenal. ( And I stil wish he'd scored that goal in the Champions League final then yesterday but c'est la vie) I don'r hate france there are just other teams that i'd rather see win the world cup. If France win it good on them, great for Zidane. But if they don't then I won't lose sleep over it. And by the way I don't think that anyone here has said that France did not deserve to beat Brazil. They played better than they have in nearly six years and they deserved the victory. I hope that made sense and you don't feel like people are against. you.

Hey guys, I don't think I made myself clear..... sorry about that. I'm not asking anybody to support France, you guys have every right to support whichever team you want. All I'm asking you is to consider other people's feeling when you post. To tell you the truth, I've never been following football.... but I'll be really glad if France could win. And since we only have european teams left.... GO EUROPE ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Hope you all enjoy the end of the world cup Emma |

Hey guys, Something's been bothering me for a while. It actually started with the Davis Cup in Pau with France vs Russia. Everybody was against the french guys and said it. One of you didn't understand that we were supporting the french team once Marat had played his match. I understand that you guys want to see as much Marat as you can, but having everybody against us is not really funny.... specially reading some of the things that are posted. It all sarted again with the football.... everybody seems to be really sad that France won vs Brazil. I'm really sorry but they totally deserved it considering the match they played. I think you could try having a little consideration for the french people that are around, some are here everyday and pretty active on the forum. Emma I´m sorry emma. That was not the intention. In fact, I think there were more people cheering for Germany than the ones cheering for Argentina here..., and I didn´t take it personally I understand it. As long as everybody is respected. I agree with you about considering other people's feeling when we post. Do you guys really think they were gonna host the wc and sat down to watch...c'mon! U can see that ame from Germany and ecuador, the fist game was soooo fixed, just look at ecuador who even PELE called "cinderealla team" how they played totally different games with their opponents, after that germany took lead. They have the cup at home and they are planning to keep it there. Just as France did in 98, the country tries to do as much as possible so that their team keeps the cup. Abou emma's reaction, I know some people are mad bout France winning, but, it won the one that had to win...Its is dissapointing to see Brasil loose, not only for their records but for THE STARZ team they have, my god! do you know how much is that team worth compared to the others so that they loose...at least to reach the final was expected and not even that. Ronaldo Ronadiho,KAKA...they are all good so...of course expectations were high. But France won it so, I guess they deserve it more. Sorry, I didn´t watch the Ger/Ecuator match.... But..., considering their football leagues, their football tradition and the importance of what we call "the shirt" ("minor" teams being "scared" in from of "bigger" teams with other football tradition) and the crowd..., Germany winning that match was not a surprise, at all. I`m sorry for the people from Ecuador, but "Cinderella team" because they qualified..., apart from that, they had very little chance against Germany in Germany... And I watched almost all the qualification matches... I agree about the locals being specially motivated to win the Cup, but I don´t feel any match was specially "fixed".... I would seriously doubt about the Australia-Italy match... That was simply unfair and highly suspicious!! But I didn´t have that feeling with any other match in this WC. If they changed their game after Germany took the lead it´s because that usually happend when a team takes the lead in a football match... As I said, I agree about the country doing what´s possible to ikeep the cup (wich includes booing the rivals when they have the ball), but I don´t think they are doing anything "illegal" or out of the rulebook That`s my opinion, we can disagree ;D |

Oh Emma , i know how you feel !!! A few months ago ' almost ' every girl on TGFR was against me ! You was very hard for me , even a month later when i was back on TGFR you was the first for picking again on me ! NOBODY deserves that .......... Emma ...... not you ... not me !! But this time i wrote not a word about the french team ! Let the best team be WC 2006 ! Maybe France ......... why not ? But there where a few girls who send me nice PM 's ! Thanks a lot ! Oh Emma , is that the reason why you after a month picking again on me !! The problem with you is another one and IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PEOPLE CHEERING FOR CERTAIN FOOTBALL TEAMS IN THE WC . Don´t try to compare your situation in TGFR with this. Like we say in Argentina, "we are a few and we know each other very well" You should try not annoy everyone and wait till everyone notices the change...., if that happends. Plus, you "picked" on certain members too and in a way I found specially irrespectful. Please, I ask you not to play the innocent victim part. And yes, I`m watching you, you are right about that. You are watched as every other member as everything is read by the TGFR staff. |

As you say reese it should be a great match. Even though I support Italy, the one thing I want most is for it to be a great match, with a ref that is strong enough to make the right calls no matter how controversial and not let himself be influenced by outside factors. May the best team win!
