btw guys, can you tell me how you celebrate Christmas in your countries? I find it so interesting that actually it's the same holiday, but people around the world celebrate it in different ways. For example in Poland we start celebrations on 24th and that's the day that we have very solemn supper with traditional dishes like carp or borsch (the tradition says that there should be 12 different dishes) and we share the holly wafer. There are some more Polish traditions, but not everyone cultivates them, like putting some hay under the table-cloth or putting one empty plate during Christmas super for a stranger who might visit us. And after the supper we open the Christmas gifts (my favourite moment of the day ;D

). So basically the most important day in Polish Christmas is 24th. 25th and 26th are just days full of lazyness.
So now I want to hear something about your Christmas. I know that in some countries you've got something like boxing day.... We don't have it in Poland and I know that it doesn't look the same in every country so please enlighten me

christmas is pretty laid back here, sometimes we open presents on the 24th, sometimes the 25th. usually have a big meal on the 25 and sit around and do nothing the rest of the day lol. nothing to fancy, just good food (and lots of it) and family and hopefully no fights over the dinner table hahaha

Here we have a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE dinner on the 24th (at night) with the whole family and lots of traditional food and so on.........
We open the pwesents in the morning on the 25th. Then, we eat again! Then, for the next three (at least ;D

) days we keep on eating and drinking and sleeping......... oh, we also visit our relatives, where we.............. that's right, EAT!!!!!! (U didn't see that coming, did U?

;D )
We do have a lot of traditions and stuff............ sing to the X-mas tree, listen to carolers (they come from door to door and U have to give them smth....... usually money, oranges, traditional cake and all sorts of food.......). There are a lot of other traditions, but here in Bucharest, we don't keep them up....... it's kinda complicated......

Then there's New Year's Eve a.k.a PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRTYYYYYYYYYYYYYY all nite long! As in 10 am the next day. And, no, NOBODY goes to work the next day....... or the next........ or the next............ (to me that's just unfathomable.....

). We just keep partying till abt the 7th cos that's St. John the Baptist............... biiiiiiiiiiiig holiday here in Romania!
The WHOLE thing lasts for abt 2&1/2 weeks...... We're party animals... ;D ;D ;D
