Marat, Dasha - what a team The media may have been banned from Marat Safin's private Oz Open celebrations early yesterday morning, but we can tell you that not only did he celebrate in style but with him was his long-time Russian girlfriend, natural medicine student Dasha Zhukova. Amid some newspaper speculation that Safin may have had a new girl in his life - Kate Neilson, a Foster's grid girl at last year's Australian Grand Prix - the Russian champ was happy to pose with Zhukova as they headed to The Motel nightclub in South Melbourne. So, around the same time that the man that Safin had beaten just a couple of hours earlier, Lleyton Hewitt, was proposing to his girlfriend, soapie star Bec Cartwright, the 2005 Open champion was proving that his love life is very much intact as well. "I'm still on the scene, nobody has replaced me," said a smiling Zhukova who, having arrived in Australia late last week, had waited at least two hours at Melbourne Park while her boyfriend completed his media commitments. According to our man, at one point, the manager asked if a television crew that was outside could film Safin celebrating, but he was sternly told that if the cameras came in, Safin and his friends would leave immediately. i don't think its for real...Marat and people related to him doesn't even have time to put up his own website...and anyway, i do think Marat likes to keep his really private life private...another thing, i looked at the other pages on the site and there's nothing on...it's too incomplete to be real..that's my opinion.. |

That pic of Dasha and Marat is from a while now, si it's not from his winnig in AO The pic of the blonde is so bad, you can see her nipples (sp)  About the wedding site, I think it's funny, it's obvious that is a joke and the worse thing it that the links don't even work, at least for me ;D |

I totally agree with you Annie the site about wedding is bullshit.
the picture where Marat and Dasha are together celebrating, was in the Russian newspaper a few days after he won the AO. And they said that this was the photo from celebrating. I guess they just used the old picture or maybe not, I don't know.
by the way some of the links in that wedding site don't work for me either.

Armgirl55 and all other newbies, please take note of Sirus' message - most of your posts are just repeating stuff that has been posted before in this very thread!Please take the time to read the start of this thread before you post anymore. I know a lot of you new fans are excited about posting Dasha stuff here, but what's 'new' to you is actually very old to everyone else  I'll probably delete most of the recent stuff, because it's just duplicating previous posts from last year, and this thread is long enough with out adding repetition! ;D

Theres a small article in The March 2005 Australian Tennis magazine about Mrat and Dasha. for people who dont have a copy here it is
" Marat Safin celebrated with a group of freinds including long time girlfriend Dasha Zhukova, coach Peter Lungdren and former players Mats Wilander and Joakim Nystrom following his victory at Melbourne Park The russian enjoyed a meal at a local Greek restaurant before moving on to a nightclub and eventually returning to his hotel around 5am. Dasha, a natural medicine student, was unfazed by reports that Marat had a new relationship with a grid girl from last years Australian Garnd Prix.
"I'm still on the scene, nobody has replaced me" Dasha said with a smile

Thanks Nikki for posting, however - I hate to be a partypooper (again) but this has already been posted in this very thread, only 2 pages back or so Can fans please have the courtesy to read the threads they are posting on before adding additional messages.
