I would just like to add that I understand that there are true tennis fans who just focus on his tennis ( back then when it was the case, that would be....) and that it's for all of us to respect it!
However, not being a tennis fan, but simply a not-too-stiff-Marat-Safin-looks-apreciator , I always lounged for a truly dirty Marat Safin private life gossiping forum (well, he'd sue, of course, but that's not the point)...How comes in 12 years of career nobody started such a thing?!
Now that's underachiving, Marat!

I'm so glad this site is going to be closed.... I so agree - maybe we should prepone it and not wait for the USOpen...  I was always hoping this place would go down in style. Well, it wasn't meant to be. |

Excuse me, I might be missing something, but isn't this thread named "Marat Safin marital status aka Marat Girlfriend"?
Should such a denomination imply anthing else than talking about his personal life?!
You know, Davis, I'll strongly back you in your proposing to close it sooner!
After all, since the tennis is gone and the fun is not allowed...what's the point?!

Oh hey, this is fun. Lots of opinions on someone else's life. Its just fun, not meant to be mean or hurtful to anyone. Lighten up everyone. As they say, this site is closing and we might as well go out with a bang. We all, mostly anyway, love Marat, his personality, his sense of humor and watching him play. To pretend not to be interested in his personal life is nonsense. Of course we're interested in a cursory way. Masha is right--what's the point if we can't have fun here. I personally look forward to not having silly "literary" efforts the main topic here. If we can't talk about his personal life, why can you guys write inane stories about him??? Goodbye all. On to the Marat forum.

Crap, I can't seem to be able to quote just now...Anyway, the words of wisdom in bold below belong to SAFINNO1 ("Marat is my brother") and they apparently are intended for me:

Well, how can I answer elegantlly to such childish parti pris?
Trying to keep in mind that it comes from a 19 years old kid, I will just point out that I have never spread any gossiping about Safin's personal life, I only said that I find talking about it pretty funny and that I think it shouldn't be forbidden; therefore, I was simply supporting somebody else exercising this prerogative.
No patronising intended, I also strongly suggest to:
- tone down on personal insults, as it is truly disqualifies you as a man;
- next time, when you wanna make a point, try conceiving a logical run of phrases, as your speech kinda lacks it.
Equally, please note that this is only a forum (although a lovely one) and that it shouldn't be taken that serious. At least not when you bite on other people for laughable reasons.

Those who think that this site should be closed earlier, are more that welcome to never come back and take their opinions to other more fun sites and forums
