WOW Marat is in his first final of the year WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Here i am coming on to follow the game a nervous wreck how will he perform and then i see Zverev withdraw due to illness- poor guy he had a real shot but his loss is Marat's gain
Possible Opposition in Final Igor Kunitsyn (local boY) would love to see an all Russian final and Marat has a better chance of winning this one or Fabrice Santoro - what a final that would be - he is a brilliant asset to the game but if you ask Marat who is most trickiest opponent is - the answer will be this man as he has the ability to do anything, slices , mix the pace up would be tricky and we dont want to look back on h2h with this guy
ANYWAY COME ON MARAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers Big Yin for letting me loose in the garden! Or should that be Zverev? I managed to do a lot in the front garden today so that's it tidied for the winter. If it rains tomorrow, at least I'll have the tennis ... ;D Hey, a final with Iggy! He just beat Santoro 6-4 6-3. Right Big Yin, keep the heid and make your harem very, very happy tomorrow. By winning the match that is ... ;D ;D ;D Right ... the garden beckons again ...

Marat Safin Vs Igor Kunitsyn - all Russian Final
Safin, Marat 3-0 Kunitsyn, Igor 2007 Las Vegas NV, U.S.A. Hard RR Safin 4-6 7-6(4) 7-5
2006 Moscow Russia Carpet S Safin 6-4 6-3
2006 Washington DC, U.S.A. Hard R64 Safin 6-3 7-6(6)
I feel really confident no dis respect to Igor and am glad he has had a very positive week but i reckon the nerves of a first ATP tour final in his homeland maybe will overcome him and the mighty moscovite will come home in straight sets depending on which side of the bed he wakes up on. Marat is 15-11 in finals and not won a tournament since AO 2005
COME ON MARAT!

I should feel very confident but of course I don't. I too am hoping that the nerves will get to Igor who's been playing so well recently and that Marat's experience will come through. Can't wait for the final - I guess it will be around 4pm Moscow time?

yeah well playing Igor is certainly much better than old Fabrice (especially if u look back history Marat REALLY hates playing the french; so don't need to check the H2Hs!!) I also have faith in Marat but absolutely don't underestimate Iggy who had a great week; I don't really think he'll work in details against his mighty buddy!!!!! whatever; Davai hbibi; bring on this damn 16th title!!!!!!!
