Marat looks sooo hottt in Pink, this man cannot do look ugly if he tried *forgets the mop hair* ps who is that old man in pink? I would assume that that is Daddy Safin. The Big Yin 30 years from now ... awww. Sweet. I thought he said his dad doesn't come to his matches anymore as he just starts shouting and gets uptight? Ooops. He was probably at Dinara's match. PS My nails are getting chewed. Maestro is living dangerously here ... Another PS He ain't old ... LMAO.

You know, every time I start to like Djokovic, even a little, he makes me hate him again with his arrogance. While he may have been ticked off about Andy's comments, to have that display after the match during the on court interview was just in rotten taste. He gave no kudos to Andy for a good match, just spewed bitterness in regard to Roddick joking that he had "16 illneses". It was obnoxious. I'm glad the crowd boo'd him. I hope Roger shows him what a true #1 player not only plays like, but acts like, both on and off court.

damn ... really thought it was gonna go to a 5th set *sigh* ugh, Novak ... I guess he may be one of those players with whom I have a love/hate relationship with (Lleyton is another one) - and currently he's on the bad side ... his comments and tone *cough* in the on court interview afterwards didn't help that either - he certainly didn't gain any fans *disgusted* and being in a mood ... the whole changing of the schedule to end up with Super Saturday (Men's SF and Women's Final), while I understand why they did it, and yeah it's cool to have that many big matches, it seems silly when there was nothing wrong with the schedule before (and especially silly since this Saturday's weather does not look promising at all -- thanks hurricane season ) sorry for the ranting ... hope for a better day tomorrow

^^ that was fast ... video speaks for itself ... his body language just was all edgy, like he wanted to pick a fight ... ugh
yeah, crowd's going to be biased, that's something you deal with ... and Andy was joking about the injury stuff - if you can dish it out, be able to take it - and he certainly wasn't seriously accusing him of faking, Andy was aware of Novak's dramatics
... more I think about it, the more things I could rant about it ... instead, it's off to bed with me
ANDY'S RESPONSE: Q. You've clearly ticked him off with comments about SARS and bird flu and everything. He took himself to bring it up in front of a stadium that booed him loudly and even Michael tried to steer it and he just kept it going. Is that a bad call on his part? ANDY RODDICK: Well, I mean, listen, here's the deal: I mean, if you guys haven't ever seen me joke in a press conference, I'd be shocked, okay?
I think you guys know it was completely meant in jest. Listen, I had four questions from each one, I had eight questions about all the other ones. Finally after 12 questions I decided to make light of the situation and it actually stopped after that. Or it screwed me up and you guys got me out of it.
I'm willing to talk about it. I don't know if, you know, he took it as seriously. I figure if you're going to joke and imitate other people and do the whole deal, then you should take it. Listen, if someone makes fun of me I'm most likely going to laugh. If I'm over the line I'm going to come in here and say I was ridiculous. And I was wrong. I've been the worst of it in the past. By no means am I sitting here trying to be holier than thou or anything like that. But I promise you that if somebody makes a joke about it I'll probably laugh.
I'm sorry he took it that way. There's nothing else to say. I don't think I was over the line. It wasn't my intention, and, you know, I'm sorry he felt that way. Maybe I did him a favor tonight.
Q. It was our comments back and forth, and to be honest with you, today I heard from five or six or seven people, I heard it on ESPN, I heard it on USA, those types of things have legs, whether you like it... ANDY RODDICK: I should know better, but listen, I joke all the time. I don't think anybody in their right mind takes me serious. I think it's very clear when I give a serious answer and when I don't give a serious answer.
Maybe that part; maybe I should know better, you know, but in my eyes it's an innocent comment. I felt that most people found it funny and I tried to build it up; if you look at the transcript, I'm saying, I'm 3, he's 8. It's straightforward. I'm trying to build it up as like I'm the favorite. I said listen, if you want to go last 10 days or go the last 10 months, he's been the best hardcourt player. I'm throwing truthful things the whole time. If someone wants to focus in on that and use it, then by all means, but especially in Novak's case, if you're going to dish out all the stuff, then be able to take it with a smile, is the only part that I don't quite agree with.

As the lone Novak supporter on this forum, I have to say a big "thanks" to Roddick for producing 2 double faults when serving with break up for the 4th set. I was rooting for Novak to win. Id like the big four ( fed/nadal/nole/murray) to be in the semis.

I expect a fair play and tend to cheer for the underdogs, with Marat the only exception. ;D I only realized that what you see on TV isn't really what you get after I actually go watch tourneys myself. Some players have real attitude issues while presenting themselves as sweethearts along with commentators' cringing on the screen. That really shocked me the first time. But people do change as they grow older. A-Rod and Murray certainly didn't impress me the previous years but they are quite different this year. re Noley boy, it remains interesting and enigmatic to me. He is very patient and nice with fans at practice and off-court and seems to enjoy that a lot. On court, I was puzzled a little bit yet came to think that's comprehensible as he "surprisingly" lost easily to Moya in the 2nd round at Cincy last year coming off as a victorious hero beating unbeatable Fed in Toronto. Does that count as "tanking" a match? The crowd didn't react to that with boos or whatever given Moya is quite popular and Noley was appreciated as a good sportsman when he shook Moya's hands with big smiles. Had his opponent been an American, I'd assume the crowd would love him even more (purely my personal assumption). Being only 21, turned pro 2003, claiming looking up to Marat which is likely to have some truth to it, Noley probably never envisions himself as a classy champ like Roger. He entertains people with impersonations, stirring drama. More like a Safin's way...but greatly different in the very core (to me). I guess it takes time. And with the talents that Nole has with tennis and other things, wish him all the best that he will become a champion with his own charms. Congrats to Nole into semis. EDIT: A stress-free weekend of semis and final to me. I will cheer for the underdogs. Oh, DAVAI DINARA!!

Im not even a big Nole fan and I know Nole gets a lot of hate but i think he was right to be annoyed by Roddicks comments, joke or not, he kinda took it far because a lot of people were making serious claims about him faking=cheating, so his coments before their match added salt to the wound, your the american playing in your home tournament, the crowd will hate your opponent, the us crowd is the worst when it comes to foreign players, playing their home player...
i like the fact Nole didnt bite his toungue and not say what he wanted to say, it actually takes some balls to say that against a big crowd and you have just played a home player....plus Roddick has always made some passive agressive coments about Nole in the past, their is more to their fuel than what happend this week.
im glad he won.
but rafa and dina all the way
