Well everyone calls Cincinnati Cinci right? But Nicki (tall_one) explained once (she is currently living there) that people who live there don't call Cincinnati Cinci, they call it Nati ;D ;D ;D

On Rafa's board, a user (Kalliopeia) wrote a Cincy blog where she mentioned Marat....:

...."By then it was just about time for Safin and Nalbandian. I can't even begin to tell you how happy I was at the prospect of seeing Marat. Nalby came first, wearing a cap and a grey Adidas shirt, and behind him...Marat. Love And it gets better. He walks over, sets his bag down, and immediately takes off his shirt. YAY!!! The next hour and a half were fabulous. Marat and David are clearly good friends. They were very smiley seemed to be enjoying themselves a lot. Marat of course was Marat and got frustrated with himself but not too badly. He only threw his racquet once! So after close to an hour I happen to glance over...and Willy Canas is walking on to the court.

The thing I found funny is that it's a big joke for people to talk about Nalbandian, calling him Fat Dave and all. But that dude was out there practicing, and practicing hard, with Safin for a solid hour and REALLY hard with Canas for at least 30 minutes and were still going strong when we left. I really like him and hope he does well in Cincinnati.

Another thing...wtf is wrong with some fans? During Marat and David's practice, this woman walks up to the fence...the court 9 seating is mostly tables with umbrellas sitting on a raised wooden platform area....lots of people (including us) were sitting on the platform in front of the fence as the tables were full, just four or five feet from the fence. And this woman walks up to the fence right in front of us and is watching Marat, who is on our side of the court at that time, and, even though he's literally mid swing, calls out and asks him to come over and sign something for her. Right in the middle of his practice! It wasn't even in between points! He was actually, physically swinging to hit the ball. Who does that? How rude! Marat was pretty nice about it, he looked over at her and I couldn't hear what he said but my guess is it was something along the lines of, "Not right now, you stupid twit, I'm practicing!" only maybe nicer. She finally left but I mean, what?? "
