Don't be sad Sandra. Maybe the rain delay will do him good, just like with his match against Grosjean. (started to rain here as well. It's pouring now so I'm going to close my windows )

Patzy and Lena, thanks for the photos they were great!!! I too hope have faith that Marat will beat Ivo. Hopefully, the ace's brigade will cease, and Marat can stay positive enough to be able to take advantage of his opportunities.

Damn Karlovic and his big serve - the dwarf in this tie lost 7-6 7-6. Marat out of the singles but has doubles to still play!

Marat had no breakpoints during the match and Karlovic served 22 aces. That must have been very frustrating for Marat.

oh i hate when marat plays against a taller guy! argh! luckily there aren't that many taller than him LOL. Ok, call me crazy but I'm not too sad about this loss... This match was much more in Karlovic's hands than Marat's. If the big tower served well there weren't many chances for Marat. Ok, how don't know how he really played, but only from the SB, the fact that he managed to hold on to his serve and not get broken is actually positive, considering how he sometimes looses serve at the worst moment possible. on to Wimby now (sigh...)

The successful match... ...and the unsuccessful one Marat in white, prelude to Wimbledon. Doesn't seem he played badly - just not quite good enough . Like Alex said, he didn't lose his service game once, he probably doesn't feel too bad. And, hey, he gained another 10 points or so in the rankings (okay, THAT was just a joke...)

I'm not sad or upset, just it's too bad that he lost it while he was playing good! it would give him some confidence if he'd won it! damn you karlovic!

22 aces? Jeez. Did he see any of them coming from that height? Pity, thought the Big Yin would have had a few more wins under his belt. Maybe he could fget a wild card for Nottingham. PS Greetings from Liverpool. I thought Glasgow was cold, it's bloody Siberia down here. I turned blue when I walked along the docks. Off to Calderstone Park tomorrow. Hope it's a bit warmer. Thank God I packed my fleece. Hopefully I get to see Borg limp on to court ... then I'm off to the St Petersburg restaurant in the evening, if I can find it. I'll have a blini in BY's honour. This place looks like a building site.
