Have recovered from last night's celebrations in Cafe Cossachok. ;D The St Petersburg blintz was fab as ever. As was the wine and Baltika beer. Decided to be a good girl and lay off the Russian vodka ... I had a meeting to go to first thing this morning. (Damn). One of the musicians said yesterday was a special day in Russia (?) I thought he meant because of the Davis Cup. Surely he did? ;D PS Cheers for the pic of Peter girls.  |

So i have vanished off TGRF for a while but what an end to 2006 - that had to be said!! ;D FABULOUS performance from both Marat and the rest of the boys!! They truely are a phenomanal team and work togehter soo well (and the Marat Dima doubles match - wow! they did it for us ladies!! ) Thanks for all the pics, reports, articles.....EVERYTHING!!! RUSSIA DC CHAMPIONS!!! YAY!!! Now everyone, beware, coz Marat is back! BRING ON 2007!!! ;D ;D ;D |

I finally saw the Davis Cup final for the first time; just the last rubber, actually. Even while knowing the outcome, I couldn't help but feel happy and proud of the team as I watched. It was cute to see Misha and Igor singing the anthem and Marat hugging the Argentine team.
Quick question, though....who is the brunette seated with the Russian team? She had a huge flag, credentials, and was wearing a gold/tan sleeveless top. She just looked very familiar, but I didn't get a good look at her face.
