To tell the truth i love him but he's really starting to get on my nerves at the moment! I didn't see the match so i can't and try not to judge but ... He's getting on my nerves too..... and he's totally pissed me off this morning when I found out the result..... and I hate beeing pissed off in the morning when I get up. But the problem is that I still love him, even when he loses against the 512 ranked guy. It would be easier if I just could stop loving him, but I can't...... I think I'm stuck with him till the day he retires. So we're all gonna take a few days to get over that one and we'll be there for the next tournament..... and the next one.... and so on. Marat has never been easy to love cause he can be either totally frustrating or totally full of genius..... and he's not gonna change now.

He lost? ? Did anyone watch??? wtf happened? Did he just pull a Marat or what? ? God..... I didn't see the match but it seems that the other guy played really well and that Marat was completely off topic again, unable to play his game... I'm starting to get desperate about him for this season : we need a miracle now... And i can't understand what's happening to him...

oh well, what a frustrating start , but I know it is really really hard to find your way back on track. Marat knows he has to work a lot and this cost a lot of nerves and time... But he has the support he need for it and I am sure we will see a winning Marat soon

From his OS forum....
Author: Webmaster (webby) Date: 20-07-2006 00:36
Ok so we are all upset - so am I! But I don't go ranting and raving and calling him names. Nobody ever said it was easy being a Marat fan - I should know I have been there since 1998 - and there have been lots of highs but also lots of lows. Watching him is like being on a roller coaster ride - you have to just hang on and ride through to the end. Part of being a fan is to understand why we support him - for his tennis, his charisma, his personality not as a machine. Roger has fantastic tennis but I just can't get excited about him and the same with Nadal - great tennis but leaves me cold. I am webmaster of this site because I have always supported and always will support Marat. Way back in 1998 he stirred an emotion that watching him was something very very special. And that emotion is still there. No other player has ever stirred that same emotion when watching him play. Yes I have times when I have felt depressed but we all get over that. In the write up on bbc online today Marat says "I never felt comfortable on the court," said Safin, who has won two Grand Slam events.
"This kind of a loss hurts. I don't really know what to do. You can only look for better times. I'm not even close to my tennis."
So you see Marat himself is confused. He will spend his time now and probably go straight to LA where he has friends and can practise hard. He wants to make it - believe me!
I think the short report from Jocelyn says it all - she was our representative at Indy together with Lydia as our ticket winners and we wait to hear her full report. Be POSITIVE fans - Marat will survive. And so will we. PEACE all webby

Well, the situation is really starting to be serious if even Webby is upset ! And i agree he's more interesting to watch than Federer and Nadal because each of his feeling on his face. But now something must happen to make him find his way back! There's no reason at all that he forgot completely how to play tennis. There's really something wrong in the way he faces the tournaments. At Wimbledon he made two solid matches, even if he lost against Gonzo but when he has to face a guy in the first rounds who he's supposed to beat easily, he missed his match... I can't get the motivation issue away from my head... I'm sure he would have made a better match if he had to play Blake in first round... I feel like he's bored to play uniterested -for him- matches. We all know that he's living for the big matches, against the top players and in front of huge crowd but damn he has to focus himself on his own game right now and accept just to give 100% on every match. I'll never believe he was at 100% yesterday when he lost 6-1, 6-4... So i'm almost sure he's going to train hard now but it's not given that it would change the situation for the next tournament.... I know you are going to all look to the sky but at this time a mental coach, even for a few times, would be worst the try... But with Marat it won't ever happen... So let's hope he's going to solve everything on his own and with his friends... But sometimes friends just love you too much to see or to want to see what is happening so...

I think Marat clearly knows what is happening. I just hope he'll get rid of his troubles and find back his fantastic tennis. And Thank u Annie and Lena for the article.
