Not looking to far ahead but Justin Gimelstob seems to be playing himself into form with a final at Newport beating Murray - so by no means should we get carried away - would be a good win for Marat

American Idols Hoping to turn Luck in Indy
Author: By Bill Scott
The Americans will lead with a one-two home punch at the 2006 RCA Championships. Top seed James Blake, world No. 6 on INDESIT ATP Rankings, is followed by second seed Andy Roddick, winner of two of the last three Championships.
But with Americans grabbing three of the top four seeds - Chile's Fernando Gonzalez is third while defending champion Robby Ginepri takes fourth - all is not right with the current state of the game on this side of the Atlantic.
All three of the local leading lights at Indy are coming off of disappointing outings at Wimbledon. Blake and Roddick fell in the third round, and Ginepri lost in the first round to Mardy Fish. The three patriots will meet up in Indianapolis to regain lost footing.
Over the past year, Blake has risen in the rankings, now standing as the top American man and sixth in the world. That's a turnaround compared to Roddick, whose 11th ranking is his lowest in many seasons.
Blake's Wimbledon loss to Max Mirnyi three weeks ago didn't do his good humor much damage.
"I'm sure by tonight I'll be back to my old self and ready to have a good night out," Mirnyi said just hours after exiting. "Then I'll get on a plane, get back to the gym and to the tennis court. I'll be right back to being a competitor."
With all 16 seeds given byes, practice courts will be full as players start making the switch over to the cement which will carry them through the US Open Series.
Russians will be well-represented, with seventh seed Dmitry Tursunov, wild card two time Grand Slam Champ Marat Safin and Igor Kunitsyn, 16th seeded 15th, respectively. Indianapolis is the first stop in the US Open Series, which is beginning its third season. The six-week, 10-event series includes men and women's tournaments offering a total of $30 million in prize money, ending in August’s U.S. Open, held in Flushing Meadows, NY.
Winners of the summer series on the men's and women's sides each earn $1 million, with the possibility of doubling that by claiming the Grand Slam title.
But prestige rather than cash is uppermost in the minds of competitors, with the likes of Mark Philippoussis and Safin both keen to regain the form which launched them into the sport’s elite. It remains to be seen which side of the Atlantic will claim the prestige and purse in Indianapolis this week.

When play's Marat his first match ? I think this answers it Just looking at the OOP for today Gimelstob is obviously not playing today due to his good run in Newport and i would expect him to play his match on Tuesday and then face Marat on Wednesday
