This morning I saw Marat training twice, the second time I saw him testing his ankle, it seems like it was a little bit painful but he caould play...he did a warm up and after that he served but he had to stop..it seems he injured in the last serve...I am just "prayng" to see Marat play his first match...Come on Marat

The info is from yesterday. It's normal to feel pain in his ankle, he rolled it on saturday. We are waiting for confirmation from webby. Let's hope the news are going to be good!

i think sometimes it's related in that when you have problems with you knee...you can be more susceptible to having ankle injuries...this is the second time marat has done his ankle since coming back rememer...something to do with ligaments or some such i think....any one feel free to correct me if i am talkiing rubbish...hehehe

i hope he's feeling better to play but his health is far more important..so if he needs to rest than he needs to rest...

i am not a doctor but you a right......those who have had knee surgery are sometimes prone to ankle and ligament injuries.
You have to also bear in mind that the hot weather that was present in Valencia and in Estoril can cause swelling in the muscles.
if he has strained it then the excessive heat and pressure that is applied during excercise can cause it to inflame and thus cause him pain!!!

But it is obviously not broken or fractured because the doctors and physios would not have let him play!! but it is possible that his knee surgry has left his ligaments and tendons that all join back to his ankle weak. And the recent exserion ...ie the fact that he has just come back onto the tour has obviously been putting stress on his ankle!!

so if the ankle that is hurting him is the same leg as his knee then there is probably some discomfort and this will go in time......i think Marat is def brave to keep playing!!

thanks for posting tomorrows OOP, however I found out that there are no cameras where marat is playing so won't be able to watch and this make me very unhappy...

iman...thanks for backing me up although i want to correct you on one thing...i don't think marat actually did have surgery...and to be honest i don't think any one outside his immediate entourage knows if he did or not....the rumours have all been contradictory...the important thing is for him to get healthy and stay that way....

hi bia u are right...my mistake...marat said e never wanted surgery and never had it.....but he still had tendonitis around his knee cap which makes the tendons and kness really weak!!! apparently you dont always need to treat this problem with surgery but if you dont then you need to rest and let it heal on its own which is what marat did!

i hope he stays fit and healthy too but am worried that maybe he is doing too many tounaments too soon!

but what do i know!!

Thanks for OOP Yse.
Thats an insult to Marat not being on a show court and we have to rely on the stupid little yellow ball being court 6 is a non televised court.

As for Marat's (so called) injury, i think marat is mature enough to make a decision about playing if he is carrying an injury, especially missing 7 months to his knee.
So if he is playing he must be fit so let the good times roll Marat

as for the other...i find it really ironic that his doubles match gets played on center court but his simples match is relegated to somewhere behind god's back...

I agree with u Bia, i don't think Fed. has ever played a match on the 6 court in a MASTER ... ( or maybe i'm wrong ) ...but any way , that's pretty rude 'cause ,c'mon, it's Marat...maybe his now on 51st place but hey...
