thanks ruth.i was aware of that connotation to the word swallow but never heard it used in that context..i mean in tennis...but then again why not...if you can choke in tennis there is no reason you can't swallow as well...hehehehe Let's not forget - cough, splutter and gag!!

Marat plays his doubles match tonight... But once again I can't watch T_T (the scoreboard)! I promise you, Annie, I'll be back on the Matches Discussion Thread topic as soon as possible !! More important now: HE WOOOON !! So happy !! He keeps making my day ! But the computer I'm on right now doesn't allow me to watch the highlights... I'll wait for the Week End ^^. This interview is awesome !! I was nearly rolling on the floor laughing with the hair and the sentence he said to the lineswoman (>>wishes to become a lineswoman ;D<<), so thanks for it and for the photos, they are really great !!! And again he speaks of five years, that's really good news ! I was wondering if the fact his knee still hurts would make him lessen the time he intends to play, but it seems not and that's for the best as long as his injuries don't get too painful. I also like the way he and Kolya talk about each other, there's a lot of respect there, but they seem somewhat ... distant. Do they know each other well ? Thanks again everyone, and please watch the matches if you can !! Udachi for your next matches Marat ;D

I was at Indian Wells yesterday for Marat's match. It was in stadium 2 which is a small intimate court and I had a great seat just yards away from Marat and near where Peter was sitting. I thought the match was great. So much fun to be close to Safin's powerful shots, but I gotta say Davydenko was getting them back. But let me tell you how gorgeous that man is. And really tan too. I brought a girlfriend with me who is now a big Safin fan. Nice to have a friend there to drool with over his broad shoulders, etc. There was a shirt change - oh yummy. At one point he took his pony tail down and redid it and we all laughed and said "hey, that's how I do my pony tail too" and wondered what kind of scrungy he used. Too funny. Got scared when he lost the first set and broken in the third, but he fought back like a champion. The sweetheart comment was a riot. He also spent a lot of time whining to Peter. A couple of temper flares and two broken rackets just added to my fun. Wowie Wow Wow Wow. I hope he gets farther because I will drag my butt down there again! Congrats Marat!

The match against Nieminen isn't tonight, though, he will play his doubles match: Stadium 3 start 10:00 AM (5)Damm/Paes vs Ginepri/Haggard (7)A Groenefeld (GER) vs M Ani (EST) [glow=red,2,300]Safin/Wawrinka vs (WC)Goldstein/Thomas[/glow]E Dementieva (RUS) vs N Li (CHN) Not before 4:00 PM M Kirilenko (RUS) or A Chakvetadze (RUS) vs (WC)S Perry (USA) or A Ivanovic (SCG) (1)Bryan/Bryan vs Bhupathi/Moodie Acasuso/Prieto vs (2)Bjorkman/Mirnyi So I think he'll play around 1 or 2p.m in Indian Wells, which makes 10 pm GMT
