UGH, even though Marat won, this match was truely crappy. I saw no brilliant points in this match, but there were at least half a dozen in the Hernych match. In second set, Marat's balls were flying everywhere. Murray did nothing to win that set 6-1. Marat truely needs to play some good tennis if he wants to beat Hrbaty. He had never beaten Hrbaty except indoors( yep, all 6 of those win against the dominator were indoors). *LOL* Cassie. I didn´t watch the match, but I never expected a great performance ;D ;D He`s coming back, he is still suffering pain inside and outside the court (as he said in the interview) and he didn´t play for a long time. At least he is winning, hahaha. But I agree with you.. If he`s not playing well, he`ll have to play better to beat Dominik And thanks lena for the interview!!

Woohooo !!!! 6-0 6-3 against HRBATY althought he's recovering from an injury : Marat hasn't finish astonishing me !!! Molodets Marat, I'm so so happy you made it today, you must have a lot of confidence by now. By the way, I wonder how the match was ? Was Hrbaty sick or was Marat simply completely on fire ?? Anybody's got a report ? ;D ;D

Marat just said "Eurm, OK" and had this look on his face like "WTF man, I'm hot, sweaty, just played a match and you want me to write to your gf ...... backwards " ... anyway he did it and looked very pleased with himself!! I guess we`ll never know who Zoe is I though it was very sweet of Marat

not sure if any of you had seen these quotes so here they are...
“Safin is the only guy who actually feels he can beat Federer, apart from Rafael Nadal, who feels Roger beats himself. His victory against Hewitt in the Australian Open final proved to me that Marat matured an unbelievable amount. If I ever had anything [coaching-wise] to do with him, I’d stress to him that he shouldn’t ever be beaten by more than 8 or 10 players in the world in a Grand Slam event.
“Safin will always be unpredictable. I hope he never becomes a predictable week-in, week-out player because then we will lose the Marat Safin that we all love. But there’s no way I’d put my money on Federer in a match against him in any major tournament. That’s because of the soundness of Safin’s game, particularly his backhand, and his all-around physical power. He has the most effective serve of any player, including Andy Roddick, because he can follow it up with another weapon. He’s also very smart. He can mix it up and come in when he should.
“Just ask all the coaches, and they’ll say, ‘Marat hits the ball the way I want my players to hit the ball.”
—Tennis legend Mats Wilander
