ok stats for marat.. 59 8 0 26 9 3/12 stats for melzer 59 2 2 16 27 0/3 first number's first serve, 2nd's aces, 3rd's DFs. then winners, and UEs and BP conversion. so...marat managed to keep the UEs down. and hmm... it didn't seem like he had THAT MANY winners on tv... but hey! i could be wrong of course. Melzer had waaaayyy too many UEs. and amrat needed 10bps to break in the 2nd set. ok. what else. marat was playing much better than he did esterday. whidh is good news i guess. he and melzer were taking turns to bve pissed and toss their racquets. it's amazing the racquets both survived. i thoght he was gonna argue with the ump again at one point in time. but good boy kept his cool yay! that's about it. he came up with some gems for winners. ;D HEWITT UP NEXT!!! WOOHOOOOO!!! GO MARAT!!!!!

interview with walt from paris site...
Not as famous as coaches of the likes of Brad Gilbert or Nick Bollettieri, Walt Landers has worked since 1989 as a physical trainer with everyone from Sampras to Safin, without forgetting Agassi, Noah, Hewitt, Forget, Becker, Pioline, Moya, and more... This Polish-American seems to always be the man in the shadow of a champion.
How does Marat rate as opposed to other players you've worked with? I started working with Marat, last year in Monte-Carlo. He was going through some rough times because of numerous injuries following one after the other. We worked together, and I was very surprised by his commitment and desire to always do more. I heard different things about him, but I make it a point to always forge my own opinion on someone. The thing about Marat, is that when he wants to work he may be the most professional person I've worked with.
When did you first start working on the tour? The first time I worked on the tour was in 1989 in San Francisco, I met Pete shortly later. He then won his first tournament in Philadelphia, beating Gomez in the finals and then went on to win the US Open. We worked together for 7 years. By hiring me, Pete was a sort of pioneer. Employing a physical coach full time was something new, only Becker and Graf had already done it.
Who was your favourite player to work with? I enjoyed working with many people, but I think my favourite is Carlos Moya. He has a good personality, a good heart, and there was a lot of mutual respect between us. I stayed in his house in Spain. I worked with him the season before he won the French Open.

smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_2_1.gif [/img] marat was playing much better than he did esterday. whidh is good news i guess. Yep thats good news LOL some one has got to calm habibi down, he can't keep playing all his matches in this state, and he won't be able to play like that againist Hewitt. Hewitt will just play on his mind and drive him really crazy. For me this is a grudge match, so I really really want to see Marat beat Hewitt. Beating Hewitt too will boost his confidence for Houston.

:-[i know this is way late but i couldn't put myself together and i was feeling like i ran out of energy so it took this long to talk about Marat's win against Ljubicic... anyway, i was so happy when he won that...it was so grueling...when marat won i was jumping up and down with my hands up in the air like i scored a goal in a championship soccer match screaming "yes! yes! yes!"...good thing nobody else was around ;D i thought he was gonna have it easy because ljubicic didn't seem to be at his best in the first round, but he gave marat a good fight in the first set. i thought my heart was gonna deflate when he lost the tie break. but i was alive again in the second set when he began breaking Ljubicic's serve.. in the third set i was grasping my chest like i was having a heart attack the whole time, every poin he wins is like a gasp of air in my lungs coz i could'nt breathe..i was praying to God all the while to help him win and saying thank you for every point..then he won th e tenth game and i was like, "okay, i can breath again" it was even more exciting in the 11th game when he broke ljubicic's serve! i was saying "C'mon! one more game!" although i know he couldn't possibly hear me then finally he won!! ;D oh my hgosh, i felt like a claustrophobic that just got out in the open field..Whew! i got worried though when he was getting angry and frustrated he began whacking the racket around i was whispering "c'mon marat, concentrate and forget about it! concentrate on the next point! you can do it!...God please help him"...it's great that he did..he kept his cool and moved on with it..i'm so proud of him for not letting those small mistakes get to him. he has matured on court with his tennis and has gained strength mentally but i love that he's still a kid inside...He's so great..He's the greatest!! oh yeah, and i also like the way the commentators have changed their opinions on marat's temper..before the start of the Haas - Canas match. they talked about how well he played mentally in the 2nd round. it was mostly on how peter has helped improve his psyche and how great it's been working for marat and closing with, i quote, "we all know what kind of talent he has"...it just really makes you proud hearing something like that... of course i've seen the third round too, but i only got to see like the last 4 games, so i can't talk about that yet...i'll watch the replay later...its great that he won it, though..in two sets.. ;D but he's gonna face hewitt next and he's more rested than marat i hope Marat wins...i'm gonna be praying really hard for that!

One of the things I disagree with you Annie on is that he's still a kid inside. He's not a kid inside. How's to say what's a kiddish behavior, and what's not? Especially if 50% of adults 'are supposedly 'kids inside'. ;D Marat. Davaiplay a bit better against lleyton. You can SO do it, but you need to bring your game up, somethat. Aces, first serve, winners, RETURN of serve... things that matter. PS: I have a bad feeling about this match. Внимательно Марат. Не пуха....
