As we all know, the Thai Open is up next after DC. And because it's in Thailand, I'm very very very very sad right now.......boohoohoo...because i'm so near yet so far!!!!! Thailand is like...3 hours away!!!! and the new budget airlines were offering tickets to thailand at...less than a DOLLAR!!!! (crazy marketing gimmick)
ah well... hmm... i wonder if my daddy's travelling to thailand anytime next week. not that he'd bother to help me get pictures or autographs. sigh.
but i digress, as usual. here's the direct acceptance list for the event.
Roger Federer (Switzerland) Cyril Saulnier (France) Andy Roddick (USA) Dmitry Tursunov (Russia) Carlos Moya (Spain) Gregory Carraz (France) Marat Safin (Russia) Dennis Van Scheppingen (Neth) Paradorn Srichaphan (Thailand) Julien Benneteau (France) Ivan Ljubicic (Croatia) Alexander Popp (Germany) Taylor Dent (USA) Jeff Morrison (USA) Feliciano Lopez (Spain) Flavio Saretta (Brazil) Robin Soderling (Sweden) Adrian Garcia (Chile) Irakli Labadze (Geogia) Justin Gimelstob (USA) Igor Andreev (Russia) Alex Bogomolov Jnr (USA) Ivo Karlovic (Croatia) Todd Reid (Australia) Thomas Johansson (Sweden)
erm...that list is not in world ranking order.

Agh Jiat! Anyway, I realy hope that Marat withdraws. Because this is a very hard schedule and he'll have to be back in moscow right after it. Too much flying: China> Moscow>Thailand> Moscow.... And he'll be tired.

And he'll be tired. it's true that the schedule for the rest of the year is hard! cuz after the thailand open the last tourneys remaining will be the 2 that are in Russia and obviously he doesn't want to miss them which is totally normal, the 2 Masters Series that are too important to withdraw from, and the tournament in Lyon which he plays usually but which isn't very important... so he could withdraw from Lyon if he's too tired.... but anyway it's gonna be hard

According to Thai newspaper The Nation, Marat will play on wednesday.
"Marat Safin, who won the China Open almost two weeks ago, will be hoping for his third win against Noam Okun of Israel. The Russian beat Okun twice in 2001.
Roddick, Safin and Paradorn will play their first matches on Wednesday."
