all this marat bashing is uncalled for. yes it was not great to see but he has always been like this. one thing bothering me the most is this consenus that he tanked the match at the end.
he did not tank the match. Dima said in his interview it was in and would have challenged it and most def get the point, all marat did essentially was say the point is dimas and saved himself from going thru the formalities.
whatever he is going thru i hope he overcomes it, i hate seeing him be this hurtful and harsh on himself, the person suffering here is marat the most, i dont know why tho. maybe he cares too much.
sorry for ranting. but lets try and see the bigger picture here
so when is it LA? next week? or does he have a few days off?

Arh Marat, someone kicks over your sandcastle so you pack up your bucket and spade and head home . Childish? Yeah. Something you expect from the surburban under 12's. I actually get to watch the US season live because it is early/late morning for us here. But I did not like what I saw this morning. It actually took me a while to figure out what you had just done. And when I did I thought what a tool - as I watched you sulk off the court getting booed!! [And I thought there would be nothing, nothing you could do to make me turn off my TV in disgust ]. Even Mitya looked gobsmacked. Let's just hope that since you want to act like a child, Mum and/or Dad give you a good talking to and kick up the arse! Anyone think that Marat has a little sibling rivalry, frustration happening? He has always been the "star" of the family and is now taking a back seat to little sis? Just doing some amateur psychology

I think everyone has pretty much summed it up, but i am in the mood for a little rant Foot Fault - they warned you, you didnt listen, what do you expect?! i couldnt help but laugh at first, but then it got ridiculous, move your foot back and GET OVER IT! You were playing fine and suddenly your head exploded and there was no return Fina Point - now this was just immature and unprofessional. i NEVER say this about you but you acted like an idiot! the least you could do is just play the point, no need to throw it in. Poor Dima, he looked completely baffled. and when have you EVER been booed off court - that just shows you, you were wrong. I was a lot more pissed off last night (i sacrificed sleep for this! ) but after sleep, all i can say is you better make it up to ALL YOUR FANS in LA and washington!! You are lucky you are so good looking that I can forgive you, even though you acted like a 5 year old out there I agree Sabz. When will he learn? I actually PAID $7.95 to watch the match on ATP Masters TV. Can I get a refund 'cause I can watch cartoons for free. All he had to do was STEP BACK, just an inch or half an inch. But he went on & on & on and he actually got booed. Has he ever been booed before? He's lucky that he has his superior good looks to fall back on

sorry for ranting. but lets try and see the bigger picture here Um bigger picture? A Marat fan or not, that was plan bad sportmanship. There's no hawkeye [which if there was there wouldn't have been a problem] so if the ump hasn't overuled the serve as a fault asap then he is not going to. Marat should have just sucked it up and hit it into the net [at least he could have looked like he was trying]. Players know no matter how much you yell, curse and break your racket if the ump hasn't overuled on the point he ain't going to. That's my rant

Marat thought it was in. Mitya thought it was in (go see his itw). End of it. So what's the problem? That Marat didn't do the formalities and didn't wait for Mitya's challenge or didn't tank Mitya's second serve to the net ? It was a single point, not the match he gave away. You care more about the looks of the things.

just checked with players services, Marat signed up for practice today I am gonna be there anyways. Since everybody is so upset with him, are piccies still welcome, guys? I didn't have time to upload.......actually after deleting my post which is kinda empathic and reading so many angry posts, i was too sad to even load in my camera memory card. ps: I just wanna say, I am nervous type of person. One time I was stressed out so much that I got very ill and hospitalized which cost me to rest half an year without salary that made my situation even worse. Neither colleagues nor my boss understood that I tried so hard to hang in there. I have constantly told myself/been told to stay cool since I was a kid, but I still suffer so much from anxiety sometimes. I flew 30 hours and spent a fortune on tickets to this tourny, I don't blame anyone. Nobody told me to come, that's my choice. Let's move on, alright. If things don't go well, I believe he will make the right decision eventually. kisses

I too felt bad for him. while it was difficult to watch, it left me more in bewilderment than anger. I felt sad for him and knew he was better than that - just too angry inside his own head to get past it last evening... please keep the pictures coming - we are all cheering you (and Marat, no matter what) on, and applaud your efforts!!

Hey guys....the more you care about someone, the more you get hurt and angry when you watch them do something bad or stupid. But then again....when you get mad at your parents/sisters/brothers/kids/friends cause they did something you find extremely stupid.....do you stay mad at them forever? Or does it mean that, even for one second, you've stopped loving them? C'mon!

I guess 4 pages of Marat-bashing is enough, don't you all agree? Couldn't agree more I suppose Mei is justsafin right? If so, I wish you are feeling better too and thank you so much for your pics and reports (and for everyone else that posted photos as well ) and I hope you have a great time the rest of the week. Enjoy Marat practicing as long as he's there ;D kisses

J ustsafin - hope you get loads and loads of pics. I'll sprinkle some fairy dust on you ... I was covered in it at Wimbles and it worked. Big Yin, if you see her, give her a hug - and a kiss! And pose for her cameras! Good that the boy was booked to practice. If anybody should get pissed off, it should be him. And he cares enough himself that he still does. Wouldn't have liked to be in the locker room with him straight after the match though ... there's a statement that you wouldn't expect to hear from a woman, eh? LMAO. The frustration anybody felt for him at the end of that match would have paled into insignificance compared to his. (I would still liked to have skelped his backside though! ;D ) Hopefully he at least bears in mind that he IS playing so much better though, and he needs to just hang in there. He's still got good results in him, and he knows that too. Keep going Big Yin - but try and cut back on the mumping ... Have you ever tried yoga ... ;D Jeez, Maestro was sailing a bit close to the wind there ... a few points and he would have been out of Cincy too. Normal service resumed in third set ... 6-0!!!
