I've heard about Evonne Goolagong, she was a great player back in her day. I reckon Kim could make a comeback after having a child

I found this article on Kim, and it's just about her comeback after an injury which has made her miss many tournies...
Belgian star Kim Clijsters is set to return from a long injury layoff next week in her homeland.
Having made the final of the Australian Open in January, only to lose to compatriot Justine Henin-Hardenne, the 21-year-old has since missed the French Open, Wimbledon and US Open tournaments because of torn wrist tendons.
But while she is still enduring some pain in the wrist, Clijsters wrote in her diary on her official website that she has been given the all-clear and will play in the new event in Hasselt.
"Good news from the doctors," she wrote. "The wrist should now be completely recovered. "When I am practising with more intensity I still feel some pain, but that is quite normal. Nevertheless, I will try and prepare as thoroughly as possible."
Having also announced last week that she will marry Australian Lleyton Hewitt in February, Clijsters added that she is eager to get back to winning ways, having seen her ranking slip to No.7.
"In the last few days I have been training fairly hard," she said. "Maybe still a little more cautiously than before, more in control. My backhand isn't completely what it should be, but I guess that won't take long now."
"Every time I hit the ball I still feel some pain, which should be due to the scar tissue only. Nothing to worry about, the doctors told me. Over the next few days, I will be increasing my training sessions."
"I will try to get ready as good as possible for the Gaz de France Stars tournament in Hasselt. It looks like it is going to be a beautiful tournament. Participating will not be easy for me after all those months without tennis. But I look forward to playing again and especially to be back in Belgium."

news from tennis-X.com: While everyone was appearing optimistic after Kim Clijsters' latest set-back with her wrist, the official doctor at the Hasselt tournament, Bruno Willems, said Clijsters' career is likely over: "This injury could mean the end of her career," Willems said. "Let's be straight -- this is a drama for Kim. I hope she comes back, but I'm pessimistic." Clijsters will undergo more tests this week, has pulled out of her remaining tournaments for 2004, and says she hopes to be back for the 2005 Australian Open...

I don't think that she'll retire... Perhaps she'll come back like Marat did last year: remember LA? And then he still played through pain...
