Something is seriously wrong with Roddick, i would say since Wimbledon (even though he can't blame himself for the whooping he got) played well in Cinci then terrible against Muller, played well in Dc tie on clay and now losing in Madrid.
He needs to sort himslef put unless he is in the same group as marat in shaghai

I think Roddicks game is just too harmless. No pressure from the baseline, solid, but without his serve It´s a pity, because I think he has a much better potential than that. He can go for it more, but for some reason he doesn´t want to do that anymore. Remember how he played when he came on the tour: aggressive, risky..... Muller hit something like 20 winners more than him in the match at the US Open. I think that loss there was a big blow for Roddick, he lost a lot of confidence. But to get better again, I think he should change his gameplan, because he´s not Hewitt.

Roddick breezes into last eight Latest results Andy Roddick found top form to sweep aside Dominik Hrbaty and reach the last eight of the Paris Masters on Thursday. The American fired 16 aces in a 6-1 6-2 win that sets up a quarter-final with David Ferrer, who beat Tommy Haas. Russia's Nikolay Davydenko beat compatriot Dmitry Tursunov 3-6 6-2 6-3 to confirm a place in the Masters Cup. The 24-year-old, who twice had treatment on his shoulder in the match, is the seventh player to confirm his place in the end-of-season showpiece. "I've had a problem with the shoulder during the indoor season," said the Russian. "It's something to do with the muscles getting tired. I need to rest (but) I can keep playing, get massage at the start of every set." I felt like everything was flowing tonight Andy Roddick In other matches, Tomas Berdych beat Juan Carlos Ferrero 7-5 6-7 (7-9) 6-4 and Tommy Robredo eased past Novak Djokovic 6-4 6-3. Eighth seed Radek Stepanek dashed home hopes with a 7-5 6-4 win over Frenchman Paul-Henri Mathieu. David Ferrer, seeded 10th, overcame Tommy Haas 6-2 6-7 (3-7) 6-3 and in-form sixth seed Ivan Ljubicic beat Thomas Johansson 6-3 7-6 (7-4). "I served unbelievable again today," said Ljubicic. "I just feel like I'm serving from the service line instead of the baseline. "I feel like the box is huge. I can't miss it. It's been like this for a month now." Roddick struggled to beat Taylor Dent on Wednesday but was in much better form against Hrbaty. "I felt like everything was flowing tonight," said Roddick. "I felt comfortable with every aspect of my game out there. I was hitting the ball pretty good and getting a lot of success with the slice." Source: news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/tennis/4403512.stm

i think the 1st pic was taken at wimbledon as i can remember a Tv company interviewed him and the surroundings look similar.
Anway something more up to date, Roddick played a top quality match with David ferrer. Brilliant match
RODDICK BATTLES PAST FERRER
Andy Roddick battled his way into the semi-finals of the Paris Masters with a thrilling victory over dogged Spanish opponent David Ferrer, winning 2-6 6-3 7-6 (10-8) to set up a match with Ivan Ljubicic in the last four.
The Spanish number ten seed came flying out of the blocks and harried and hustled Roddick right from the off, breaking his serve in the opening game, before taking the set 6-2.
However, the number one seed came back in the second set to win 6-3, despite having two lengthy injury breaks to receive treatment on his back.
Ferrer came on strong again in the third set, and served for the match at 5-3, but he could not hold his nerve and the chance went begging, before the game went into a tie-breaker.
The Spaniard had the early edge in the tie-breaker, but wasted two match points - although one was superbly saved by a wonderful running forehand from Roddick.
World number three Roddick also had a match point saved by Ferrer, but he converted the second with his 17th ace to seal the win after 2 hours and 12 minutes, to set up a semi-final against Ivan Ljubicic

it was a wonderful game against ferrer. i just finished watching the replay. he had a back injury and even through the 2nd and third sets didn't move well. but like the top ten player that he is he actually lifted his game and found a way to win.
i think he had actually done a lot better this year than others think. he is the only player to win a title on every surface. that suggests a fairly complete player. and he played so darn well at wimbledon. his volleys have become so much better. he is now a player with more than a forhand and a big serve. IMHO. i woudn't be suprised if he was seeing someone mentally. he must be thinking, god, i have worked so hard, i have become a better player and i still can't quite do it? what more do i have to do? but i think it will help and i think that his patience on court is helping him win. just keep it up andy!!

he is the only player to win a title on every surface. that suggests a fairly complete player. I don´t exactly agree with that.... BTW, didn´t Roger and Rafa win titles in all surfaces too? EDIT:.... Andy, 4 surfaces Rafa, 3 surfaces, but more titles and a Slam Roger, 4 surfaces, lots of titles (LOL) and 2 Slams But I agree that people tend to think he didn´t have a good year, and it might seem true as he was defeated by players I would never imagine.... But, even like that, he obviously did it better than most players and is actually Nº3 Anyway,..... it doesn´t sound good that he had to save 2 MP against Ferrer (!) in that surface, even if Ferrer played really well (I didn´t see the match). Was/is that a serious injury? And he has got to improve his performance outside the US!!! It drives me crazy when he finds it so difficult to win outside his country. LOL I think 80% of his titles are US titles... This, in my opinion, is really a problem...

i don't think that roger won indoors on carpet and hardcourt, did he? i don't know. i had the stats somewhere but i can't find them in the mess that is my computer... i don't know, it kinda irks me how all the us media put so much pressure on him and say that he has let down us tennis and that he has underachieved because he isn't federer. i mean, he is what? 23? GIVE HIM A BREAK! he was still growing up and is now really improving himself. and he has his family and his charity. grr... he goes pretty well here in aus. he would have won kooyong but, you know, roger. and he has won queens for the past few years. and he just won lyon. not so bad... his injury> he pulled some lower back muscles, or strained them. made his serving and his movement really ave. so he had to improve his shots, and he did to his credit. ferrer had match point (or points) as well... sorry. i just re-read my post...i don't mean to be so grouchy. i spent the day taking my little cousins (four of them under 6) to the zoo. it was my auntie's b'day so her hubby took her out for the day and i volunteered, silly me!! they are great kids, but never take four kids to the zoo by yourself, it is bad for the nerves. but on the up side i have decided that seals are perhaps the cutest animals on earth ;D
