Basically Iman, he should have won in straight sets, he led 3-0 in the first set and had points in the following 3 games he lost to win the set. It was not a very pleasing match to watch as neither player were playing well. it was either Murray dropped form or Monfils dropped form as the scorline can suggest.
Although he is still young and this sounds stupid but if anything he should forget about his tennis and concentrate on his fitness, how many times are u going to hurt yourself and can u last for 5 sets!
Oh well he's had his chance on his favourite surface, next comes the grass court season for Murray. Hopefully he can play as well as he could last year when he should have beaten Nalby

well that is a shame to hear this
i have been reading that it is murrays serve that let him down which is not surprising is he had a lower back problem!! i think ur right and he needs to get his fitness back esp if he wants to compete at wimbledon....do u know if he is going to play any of the tournaments b4 hand like at the queens club??? or nottingham???
thanks safino1 iman xx

okay, wen will murray get the hint that he needs to improve his fitness!! its been nearly a year, and i know he is having issues with his back, but still he should have won!! i was listening to the post match analysis and they were saying that wen he was training in barcelona, he would play on the courts for ages, but wen it came down to going in the gym and work on the fitness, he would refuse to go??!! i dont understand that!! surely he realises that his fitness is KEY to his tennis!! Murray has proven he got wat it takes - he beat hewitt and roddick! so why cant he do that little bit extra? i realise you might think i am harsh, and i know he is under a lot of pressure from the media and the public, but i am really confused on this matter!! okay enough of that! i have been so preoccupied with Marat and Andy, that i forgot that TIM IS PLAYING TOMORROW!! (and Dima ) i have now decided to cheer for tim!! hopefully he can get vengence for Wimby! GOOD LUCK TIM!! ;D ;D ;D

i think he gets abit complacent sabz......he gets alot of press attention and maybe it goes to his head and he think he is actually really good when yet really he has a lot to learn and needs to train even harder if he wants to compete with players like monfils (who is exactly in the same boat as murray...ie he is young and has a lot of raw talent)
sorry to be so negative tims match has been postponed till 2moro....

Henman upset by Paris 'shambles' Henman must now prepare for his 13th Wimbledon campaign Tim Henman criticised French Open officials for the scheduling of his second-round match following defeat to Dmitry Tursunov on Thursday. Henman lost 6-3 6-2 4-6 6-4 when the match resumed after bad light had stopped play on Wednesday, with the match having got under way at 1945.
The Briton was unimpressed that the match was halted on Wednesday despite play continuing on other courts.
"It was just a shambles," he said. "The decision-making was nonexistent."
Henman was involved in a lengthy on-court conversation with the tournament supervisor before play was called off on Wednesday.
"I think the darkest point was at the beginning of the second set," he said. "I wanted that sort of quantified - what is good light, what is bad light?
"(The supervisor) said: 'Well, we're playing on all the other courts'. So I said: 'Does that make the light acceptable?' He said: 'We use our experience'.
"And then at the beginning of the third set, it's the lightest it's been for three-quarters of an hour and then he says: 'No, we stop now, we've stopped on all the other courts'.
"I really wasn't that bothered whether we carried on. Not a lot was going right, so I was happy to stop.
"But then you come back in the locker room, and there's five courts that were playing for another half an hour, so it was just a bit of a circus really."
Henman now returns to London to begin preparations for his 13th Wimbledon, and he remains convinced that results will start to improve soon.
"There's a big part of me that really is very, very confident about the way that I've been playing, the way that I'm moving on the court," he said.
"My movement, I think my strength and my enjoyment is probably as good as it's been in the last three or four years, and that's a big, big motivating factor.
"Sure, I'd like the results to improve, but I just don't really have any doubts that they will improve because I'm playing good tennis."

With GB such a terrible DC team we have to play un July to save ourselves from further humiliation
Murray to lead GB in key Cup tie Murray will carry a heavy burden in the tie Andy Murray will lead Great Britain's Davis Cup team in their vital Euro Africa Zone Group One tie with Israel. Murray, Alex Bogdanovic, Alan Mackin and Jamie Delgado make up the squad for the tie at Eastbourne from 21-23 July.
In the absence of the injured Greg Rusedski and Tim Henman, who has retired from Davis Cup, Bogdanovic looks certain to play in the singles.
Britain must win to avoid a relegation play-off after defeat to Serbia and Montenegro in Glasgow in April.
Davis Cup captain Jeremy Bates said: "The team I have selected have shown they can win matches on this surface and I know they are all excited at the chance to play.
"With Greg's unavailability for this tie through injury it provides a fantastic opportunity for some of the guys to represent their country and play at this level."
Bogdanovic declined to play in the Davis Cup last April as he felt he was not "mentally ready."
His last appearance in the Davis Cup came in the 3-2 victory in Israel in 2005, but he lost his only match in straight sets.
