I think the staring at opponents is to try and intimidate Unilke Marat, Roger has no problem hitting shots into the body ala a ball going into Safin's stomach. I didn't see the match but if Marat was already at net it was intentional.

Yeah I am proud to say that we support a person, who everyone including sports journalists and commentators as well as umpires (!!!!!) consider one of the most fair, gentleman and decent players

I think the staring at opponents is to try and intimidate Unilke Marat, Roger has no problem hitting shots into the body ala a ball going into Safin's stomach. I didn't see the match but if Marat was already at net it was intentional. I was thinking about this too. I really can´t say anything as I didn´t watch it.... My only problem with Roger is that he`s too damn good, haha ;D ;D ;D What I mean is that I don´t like when only one person in any sport is too dominant (except Maradona, in my case ... what I was a little girl then... , haha and I`m talking about him only when he played football) But, even when there are no surprises with him, it`s a pleasure watching his tennis... (only his tennis, hahaha). About hitting the balls to the rival`s body.... this might not be a "nice thing" to do...., but it´s kinda "legal"....(??) I really don´t have an opinion about it yet... It`s true I haven´t seen Marat doing it very often , but I haven´t seen Roger doing it too.... (I might be wrong).... And about staring at you opponent... I would love to watch Marat doing it!!! ;D It´s a psychological attitude on court... Justine said recently that she can see the fear in the other player`s eyes sometimes, and when this happends, it means she has good chances of winning the match.. That`s one of the reasons why I love tennis, it`s a psychological battle too. But as I said previously, I hate seeing Federer everywhere!!! (and it`s happening the same thing with Rafa now!!!) But you know, the press is the press, marketing is marketing and they were doing it quite well on court... But sometimes it`s too much!!!!! Yeah I am proud to say that we support a person, who everyone including sports journalists and commentators as well as umpires (!!!!!) consider one of the most fair, gentleman and decent players That`s true. Argentine players (as far as I know) really like him!! ;D And tennis commentators too They criticize(the journalists) the usual things (mental strength , throwing racquets, etc), but they allways talk about him very well. And they adore his press conferences and interviews, hahaha (from what I heard)

I agree....recently the guy has been scaring me to death...honestly...the look in his eyes when he plays..he just looks at his opponents in a manner that makes me shiver...ufffff LMAO Annie..... but its true ;D Oh lord Annie thats a bit strong But I don't see friendlyness in the eyes, and I did find the shaking of hands a the last match quite cold, not like before. I think JCF is a bit of a snake in the grass. Well said.

It's not nice but like lau said it is all legal. As coaches say playing tennis is 90% a mental game. Having my opponent stare at me used to happen all the time. It's like you have to show these players how good you are and then they stop the head games and start respecting you. I think Roger respects only a few players Marat is one of the chosen few now, la de da

I found the following on another forum, and thought to copy it and share it with you all It was on bbc tennis msg board (have u say) and the person, I think female, made some very good points.......but then most of you know by now that if I Federer was the last tennis player on the face of this earth I still would not support nor like him Oh, Annie, I just read this post. Good points there... I agree with most of them..... I admit I have problems qith his press conferences, interviews, etc But I don´t have many problems with his attitudes on court (but most of the times he wins...., the true players are seen when they lost.. )

Well Fede always stays really nice when he loses... I think he's a fair opponent and that he respects everyone (read all his interviews in Roland, for me he's a great guy and I think everyone likes him in the other players -> I read something about a french player -Bachelot- ranked about 400th... He was looking for someone to train with near Roland and saw Yves Allegro to ask him. Allegro could not play, but he said "Just wait on, I'll ask Roger". He called him on the phone, and Roger arrived straight away and played with Bachelot for about 1 or 2 hours !), but fears no one (well that's understandable... He's darn too good !).
And I prefer to support him, 'cause if he loses people will say that the performance of Marat in AO was not so good, and also because it's a pleasure to watch him play; I was so angry when he lost to Nadal in RG, it was not the real Feed on the court.

LOL Ily I know...but he seems to be back at DC for a while..tough on Tim and Greg but...what can you do.... You may have forget that Tim has retired from DC and so i will rephrase. tough on greg and Andy God they will have to play out of there skins to reach the World Elite. It should be a quality match Andy (On his favourite surface, SF at RG Juniors) and Roger Federer, we know the crowd will be pumped up while i sweat watching this. Luckily for me i can watch Russia - Croatia and SWitzerland - GB both on Tv
