lol! I cringe looking at Marat's shit , can someone pls assist him I REALLY hope that it's the shirt that's still being discussed, otherwise it's a whole new level of hero worship going on here. LMAO. I bow to you Marat, and everything that belongs to you! And iron the shirt. LMAO. You're upsetting the girls. The iron is that thing in the kitchen that heats up when you plug it in. No Marat, that is the oven ... lol GOOO MARAT!!! I love wearing clothes that isn't ironed. Well, most of the time...

Safin rebounds at Swedish OpenBASTAD, Sweden (AP)—Wimbledon semifinalist Marat Safin rebounded from an early 3-0 deficit to beat Marc Lopez of Spain 7-6 (6), 7-5 in the first round of the clay-court Swedish Open on Tuesday. “It was tough because coming from grass it is a little bit different surface,” Safin said after his first match in Bastad in 10 years. “He has great hands and he is also a clay-court specialist. If he had won the first set I think it would have been a tough one because he is the kind of person that goes with the confidence.” Fifth-seeded Carlos Moya, the champion in 2002 and a semifinalist last year lost in the first round, squandered a match point in falling to Potito Starace 6-7 (4), 7-6 (6), 6-4 in his first match since a shoulder injury forced him to miss Wimbledon. Starace meets Safin next. Eighth-seeded Robin Soderling beat Fabio Fognini of Italy 6-1, 6-7 (4), 7-5 and fellow Swede Thomas Johansson defeated compatriot Filip Prpic 7-6 (4), 6-3 and will meet fourth-seeded Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic in the second round. “It will be a tough game. He is good on all surfaces,” Johansson said. “It will be fun to see what I can make of it.” Seventh-seeded Jarkko Nieminen of Finland rallied to beat Sergio Roitman of Argentina 6-4, 6-2 in a match which started on Monday and was suspended by rain. He will face Steve Darcis of Belgium, who defeated Daniel Koellerer of Austria 7-6 (4), 6-0. Jonas Bjorkman beat Marcel Granollers of Spain 6-3, 6-1.

Only four days after his Wimbledon semifinal lost to Roger Federer, Marat Safin was back on court, this time on another history rich court, the centre court of Bastad. Not only did Safin show that he could adapt his game to the change of surface in very short time, he also proved that his desire to rise back to the top of the rankings were genuine. Previously known for losing both his temper and his patience, Safin fought hard against a man determined to run down every ball. Even if Marc Lopez is only ranked 172, he gave safin a run for his money, saving three set points in the first set, before forcing a tie-break in which he offered himself a chance of closing out the set. In vain. Safin ended up winning 7-6 (6) 7-5.
In the second round, he is due to meet Italy’s Potito Starace who fought off a match point against an other former world n°1, Carlos Moya. Winner in Bastad in 2002, Moya bowed 6-7(4) 7-6 (6) 6-4 as many spectators gathered on court n°1 to witness the ruthless battle.
