i saw David's match and was brilliant, andn i am very impressed by Ljubo even if he had a big advantage he didnt show sifns of letting up. He's a good bet for shanghai.
This is the fastest court on the ATP by far, the speed the ball picks up from the court is amazing. Wonder how marat would fair on here, guess well have to wait till next year.

little remark by Coria
I don't see myself winning too many matches on this surface - it's like playing on ice

David´s match was the most frustrating match I`ve seen lately (worst than Marat`s final against Roger in Halle)... It was so close... I can´t say nothing else, I`m very frustrated yet LOL By the end of the 1st set of Guille-Ivan I was already asleep.. Arg. players will suck big time on this surface... LMAO!! Oh well, I should be happy to have 3 (4 with the alternate) there

Federer-Nalbandian 6:3, 2:6, 6:3 GREAT MATCH DAVID!!!!!!!!!! Tough luck...Roger isn't in his best shape, very careful on the serve and has support around one ankle...leg is not fully recovered for sure and he's very careful..Both showed some great tennis though ;D Ljuibicic-Coria - no chance Guillermo 6:2, 6:3 Tomorrow: Kolya - Agassi DAVAI SWEETIE Nadal - Gaudio The surface is incredibly fast they layed the carpet on wood and man, some players are struggling i thought that roger looked tentative as well on serve, but the idiot commentators down under were going on about how he looks 100% sigh. and the court. wow it was so fast, and low! and when they bounced the ball you could hear the echo from the wood underneath. but at least because it is plywood it will beless of a risk to knee's and ankles that are already a bit sore... come on kolya!

MONDAY PREVIEW November 14, 2005
Agassi, Nadal Headline Golden Showcase
Agassi signs autographs in Shanghai. All eyes will be on Andre Agassi and Rafael Nadal as the singles and doubles Gold Groups take Center Court for the first time at Tennis Masters Cup Shanghai on Monday.
Agassi returns to competition for the first time since losing to Roger Federer in the US Open final on September 11. He starts his 2005 Tennis Masters Cup campaign with a match against Tennis Masters Cup debutant Nikolay Davydenko.
Agassi won a year-end event 15 years ago at the 1990 ATP Tour World Championship, but has yet to win the Tennis Masters Cup, although he was runner-up in 2000 and 2003.
Rafael Nadal, at 19 years, five months the first teenager to qualify for Tennis Masters Cup since Lleyton Hewitt in 2000, plays his debut TMC match against Gaston Gaudio.
The Argentine leads their series 3-2, although Nadal won their two most recent meetings. Monday marks their first meeting away from a clay court. Gaudio is looking to improve on the 0-3 record he posted in his first appearance at this event last year.
In doubles action, a clash of the past two years’ finalist teams when 2005 Australian Open champs Wayne Black/Kevin Ullyett play Michael Llodra/Fabrice Santoro. Llodra/Santoro were runners-up to the Bryan brothers in the first year of Tennis Masters Cup doubles in 2003, while Black/Ullyett lost the 2004 final to the Bryans.
This year’s Roland Garros doubles champions, Jonas Bjorkman/Max Mirnyi, face surprise Wimbledon winners Stephen Huss/Wesley Moodie in their opening group match.

SHANGHAI, Nov 12 (Reuters) - Former winner Andre Agassi, who has not played since losing to Roger Federer in the U.S. Open final in September, returns to action at this week's Masters Cup troubled by an ankle sprain.
The 35-year-old American, winner of the season-ending Masters back in 1990, suffered the injury playing racquetball four weeks ago.
"It's not the most ideal preparation but you always want to believe that you've still got it," said Agassi, who is appearing in the tournament for a record 13th time.
"Not playing is not always easy and it's not always a great decision in the short-term but my intention was to get fit for Shanghai and to do this for another year.
"I want another chance, that's the way it is."
Agassi, who has been drawn with Rafael Nadal, Nikolay Davydenko and Gaston Gaudio in the Gold Group at the $4.45 million event, accepts the game has changed a great deal since he beat Sweden's Stefan Edberg in the 1990 final.
"I think we can't ignore how violent the athleticism of the sport has become," said the eight-times grand slam champion.
"Guys are getting bigger, stronger and hitting the ball harder. There's more wear and tear as the sport evolves naturally, into a more powerful athletic game.
"One thing you can't ignore is in order to get to the ball these days, you have to move ballistically.
"Playing a surface like we are here is not easy on the body," added Agassi, who plays his first match against Davydenko on Monday."
The top two in each group advance to the semi-finals at the ATP Tour's season-ending extravaganza which runs from Nov. 13 to 20 at Shanghai's Qi Zhong Stadium.

Oh, this is just ridiculous. They might as well hand the trophy over to Fed right now.

WAIT IT GETS MORE RIDICULOUS THAT THAT!! Agassi beaten by Davydenko at Masters Cup 2005-11-14 12:51:38 GMT (Reuters) Agassi joins Nadal in pulling out of Masters Cup 2005-11-14 13:16:14 GMT (Reuters) SHANGHAI, Nov 14 (Reuters) - Former world number one Andre Agassi became the second player to pull out of the season-ending Masters Cup in Shanghai on Monday. The American withdrew from the $4.45 million extravaganza after losing his opening group match to Russia's Nikolay Davydenko 6-4 6-2 citing an injury to his left ankle. Earlier world number two and French Open champion Rafael Nadal pulled out with ligament damage in his left foot. Agassi badly sprained his ankle playing racquetball four weeks ago and was never in contention against Davydenko. Agassi and Nadal are the latest injury casualties to hit the lucrative event after Andy Roddick, Lleyton Hewitt and Marat Safin all pulled out with injuries.

SHANGHAI, Nov 14 (Reuters) - World number two Rafael Nadal pulled out of the season-ending Masters Cup on Monday citing an injury to his left foot.
The French Open champion is due to address fans at Shanghai's Qi Zhong stadium later on day two of the $4.45 million event to explain his decision.
The Spaniard's withdrawal is a massive blow to organisers of the lucrative event who had already lost Andy Roddick, Lleyton Hewitt and Marat Safin from the line-up.
Australian Open champion Safin gave up his place in the eight-man field last month as he continued to struggle with a knee injury.
The Russian was joined on the sidelines by world number three Roddick who was suffering lower back spasms.
Twice-champion Hewitt pulled out due to personal reasons -- his wife, television actress Bec Cartwright, is expecting the couple's baby in Sydney within the next two weeks -- but he has also been recovering from a groin strain and toe surgery.
Of those who did answer the call to China, Roger Federer has only recently recovered from an ankle injury while Andre Agassi is troubled by an ankle sprain.
Nadal's place will be taken by Argentina's Mariano Puerta, this year's French Open runner-up.
The 19-year-old Nadal, who had been due to play Argentine Gaston Gaudio later on Monday, had sat out the final two weeks of the season because of knee tendinitis.
