Clement storms to Marseille win French wildcard Arnaud Clement eased past Croatian sixth-seed Mario Ancic to secure his first ATP tour title since 2003 in the Marseille Open. The 28-year-old, who ended world number two Rafael Nadal's comeback from a foot injury in the semi-finals, never looked in trouble as he stormed home 6-4 6-2. The victory took little more than 90 minutes and Clement admitted: "This is the event I have wanted to win most. "This was a dream week, one of the best in my whole career. I'm thrilled." The Frenchman, ranked 67th in the world, was adding Marseille to his previous titles gained at Metz and Lyon, both in 2003. "It's good to win again after two tough years," said the local boy from nearby Aix-en-Provence. "It was quite a long time since I have played at such a level. I could not ask for anything else." Ancic, ranked 21st in the world, admitted: "Today he (Clement) was simply overwhelming, there was nothing I could do." The defeat was Ancic's fifth in career finals and his second this year after his loss to Jarkko Nieminen in Auckland prior to the Australian Open.

Is this the same Arnaud Clement who played grosjean in an AO semifinal many years ago?

Yep I think it's him, I don't believe the other Arnaud Clément would have beat Nadal and Ancic ! But at that time (this very long past AO ^^) I didn't know tennis very well, so I'm happy to be able to see him at such a level !!
