Missed all the finals action but overall glad to have Amelie and Roge champions Justine Henin-Hardenne and Amelie Mauresmo line up to contest their first Grand Slam final against each other Henin-Hardenne tries to find her focus after losing the first set in just 33 minutes to a rampant Mauresmo Mauresmo (right) is quick to comfort Henin-Hardenne courtside as they wait for the presentation ceremony Silverware at last for Mauresmo as she holds aloft her prize in Melbourne, where she was runner-up in 1999

Top ranked Roger Federer prepares to take on Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis who makes his first Grand Slam final appearance [imghttp://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/41269000/jpg/_41269274_open.jpg][/img] Underdog Baghdatis starts well and after breaking Federer's serve wins the opening set 7-5 But the determined Federer battles back and wins the second set 7-5 to level the match From then on Federer is relentless and the Swiss star takes the title with a 5-7 7-5 6-0 6-2 victory The victorious Federer is congratulated by Australian tennis legend Rod Laver

My biggest winner though is Martina Hingis Resurgent Hingis wins mixed title Martina Hingis capped her impressive return from retirement by claiming the mixed doubles title at the Australian Open with Mahesh Bhupathi. Hingis and India's Bhupathi, who entered the tournament as wild cards, saw off six seeds Daniel Nestor and Elena Likhovtseva 6-3 6-3. The victory is the Swiss 25-year-old's 15th Grand Slam title and her first mixed doubles crown. Hingis also reached the quarter-finals of the women's singles event. The three-time Australian Open champion's run there was ended by Kim Clijsters. The doubles victory is Bhupathi's ninth Grand Slam crown, six of them coming in the mixed event and three of them in the men's doubles. "If anyone asks me why I came back, this is why - the dream of being back on court, of winning major titles," said Hingis. "I just wanted this one badly. My first mixed doubles title, it definitely exceeded my expectations." Bhupathi said he jumped at the chance to play with Hingis. "As soon as I saw she was playing, winning matches, I just kind of shot a quick email to her agent," he said. "Fortunately, I got the positive answer and I think the rest is history." In the boys's singles, France's Alexandre Sidorenko defeated Australian Nick Lindahl 6-3 7-6 (7-4). Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova took the girls' title with a 1-6 6-2 6-3 win over top seed Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark.
