from atp.com: Rafter Elected to Tennis Hall of Fame Aussie tennis great Patrick Rafter has been elected to the International Tennis Hall of Fame, and will be officially inducted in July alongside Argentine Gabriela Sabatini and Italian tennis writer Gianni Clerici. At 33, Rafter will be one of the youngest inductees and the 24th Australian to join the elite group that already includes fellow compatriots Rod Laver, Tony Roche and John Newcombe. “This was unexpected and I’m absolutely delighted,” said Rafter. “It’s one of the greatest honors in tennis and I am looking forward to the induction.” His election comes just four years after the former World No. 1 retired from the circuit with chronic elbow and shoulder problems. Rafter hung up his racquets following a victory over Frenchman Sebastien Grosjean in the 2001 Davis Cup final. The two-time US Open champion compiled a 357-191 record over a 12-year career. Rafter won 11 singles titles, and also captured 12 doubles titles including the 1999 Australian Open Doubles title with partner Jonas Bjorkman. The Aussie, who was elected as a Recent Player inductee by a panel of international tennis media, will be inducted at the International Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island, on July 15. I liked Rafter sooo much! I think it´s cool that he is elected

I'm so pleased that Amelie has got a GS, even though the circumstances were not as competitive as she/we would have wanted. But it isn't the first 1-sided GS final that there's ever been. "I just knew I was ready to die on that court today " Total commitment...........YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's hope she can carry that feeling forwards into future tournaments.

Congrats to Amelie Mauresmo! As all good French, I'm glad to see her wining a GS. She truly deserved it and was the best player in this tournament! I've got to say that I'm a bit disappointed that Henin didn't play the whole match. I don't think she felt sick as she said. "Yes, it's been a few days I wasn't feeling well." have been Henin's words 1 day before the finale. Anyway, just hope people won't see Mauresmo's victory as a pure Luck.
