I have faith in the Russian team, udachi ladies What I'd love to see is Dementieva crushing Pierce after what Mary did in the SF to Elena in New York. Why isn't Kuznetsova playing? Sore shoulder?

from the Russian newspaper SportExpress
Dementieva wants a revenge at Rolland Garros
One of the leaders of the Russian Team Elena Dementieva cannot wait to get revenge at Mary Pierce for the US Open semifinal during the Davis Cup final the upcoming weekend. She announced it today during her press-conference dedicated to the final match.
"I am really eager to play Pierce here, at Roland Garros and take a revenge for the US Open. Then in New York Pierce happened to be stronger than many of her opponents, physically and psychologically, but if a tennis player is higher in class sooner or later he/she gets to win", Elena said.
However Dementieva also said that she hasn't gotten used to the climate and the surface yet. "I arrived in France only on Tuesday and haven't adapted completely yet, trying to switch hard court to clay now. But in any case I'll be ready by Saturday".
Anastasya Myskina in her turn announced that her teammates and her don't really care which surface to play France on. "In the semis we beat the USA on clay. This surface is not the worst for us but we're ready to fight on any surface and don't really care what it is".
Dinara Safina expressed her opinion that these joint training sessions with other girls help her to gain experience. "The fact that I am a member of the team is a really great experience for me. It's important for my career that I train with Lena and Nastya, who help me a great deal", Dinara said.
