Great thread... I admit I have a bit of a crush on Carlos Ramos. There is also another ump that is easy on the eyes, I think his name is Carlos as well. If I remember he did the match between Marat and Andy during Davis Cup Semis.

The guy who did a Marat/Roddick match during Davis Cup is Carlos Ramos ;D ;D ;D I was there  Mohammed is back ;D ;D ;D He was umping Ljubo-Roddick in Shanghai today ;D And Lars did Federer/Nalby ;D Wonder is Mollina is there too we'll see tomorrow I suppose  |

I don't know about this "womanizer" thing, but "Mr. Mo" does have a very happy face in every match...
I also like Lars and Norm Christ (don't know if wrote right), even though he seems to be very serious.
I like Norm Christ too he seems to be very serious but pretty relax when take with player

Miami Umpire Love!  Mo seemed to be at every Grandstand match I watched – I’d go, come back a match or two later, there he was again! ;D Mohammad & Lars discussing the fuss Calleri put up over a line call in his match with Tsonga (Friday)  Chatted it up forever, LOL  Mohammad checking the lines after a sprinkling of rain during Robredo/Dent (Sunday)  What’s the plan? - Interesting gathering of players, TV people, supervisor people, ball kids, and Mo  Still waiting it out in the sprinkling rain  Lars Story: After Marat-Monfils, it was break time. After food and a walk-around, moseyed back to see some of Tsonga-Kendrick. But players had stopped, and a medic cart was coming. Someone in the crowd had fainted/fallen, not sure. Anywho, while we were waiting around for the medics to take care of the person (who they carried down the bleachers on a stretcher), who’s standing by one of the entrances but Lars! He seemed to be helping out with people who were coming and going, and letting whomever else know what was going on from outside the court, letting them know what to do, all while chatting it up with a patron. They do more than just sit in a chair. Weird hearing his voice in person, not over a microphone. The best was hearing someone contacting him on their walkie-talkies, to which he replied, “Yeah, this is Lars.” |
