To throw in my tuppenceworth, he has the talent and ability. Alongside Maestro, I still believe he is the most naturally gifted player of his generation. The difference between the two is self-belief. Maestro always expects to win, no matter what.If the Big Yin started to believe he is a champion, he'd start playing like one again. He's hit a pattern that he ups his game when playing a top ten player and it focuses him, a lower ranked player doesn't get him fired up. If he could get back in to the habit of seeing every player as a challenge, he'd win more matches.

But Marat still has the talent and ability despite his ranking and losses this year. Overall, he has more raw talent than Ferrer and the majority of atp players. he beat berdych and Ferrero. so maybe it has given back his form. you can't say he has no chance. he has the talent to beat him. Arvind, you may have been taken aback by Davis' reply. It's okay, i got that feeling too when i first posted here. It's a really nice board, but some members who have registered here years ago have the tendency to practically ignore the rest, who may have signed up later, but have been fans since God knows when. Anyway, that was not my point. I really respect everyone here and i'm not searching for polemic. My oppinion towards Marat's matches against Mallise, and probably Ferrer is rather simple. he obviously starts the match with second chance. Of course, there is that hope..a ray of light in the darkness, but still, we can't rely on his raw talent, which actually has lost his consistency. I mean, i agree with Davis on this one, there are so many young players, there is a whole different and fresher generation coming from behind. They've got the whole world in front of them and they've got a lot of time to improve and stuff. On the other hand, Marat is out of time. It's like a count down, in which he has to do his best in regaining his shape..what's left of it. BTW, when's the match and at what hour? Or don't we know yet?

Thanks for the welcome guys.
but getting back to the whole talent argument, i don't think his age is a big problem. his age isn't the reason he's been losing all these matches. its his mental game. those last three sets against berdych clearly proved that he can beat a top 10 player and can make a comeback if he is motivated enough. Agassi made a resurgence and won most of his majors after he turned 29. so who knows?

I mean, WTH, it's a Masters Series tournament and we, the Europeans, don't get to watch it??? TV broadcaster did not depend on region, it most depends on money for tv rights. This is an Masters Series Event, and it is not very "cheap" for a broadcasters. So most of TV stations are pay-TV. Here you'll find a list where you can watch it (worldwide) montecarlo.masters-series.com/4/en/event/tv/default.aspIf you like to watch tennis, you'll have to deal with internet tv and lots of programms like sopcast or beting websites, where you can watch it also. That's one of the new developments in tv watching and sport.

Invincible - MC is on Eurosport 2, starting today. I've recorded it - hope to watch it tonight when I get home from work. Sod's law the Big Yin ends up on a court that you have to jump to on the interactive view tomorrow.
