Mrs Annie! You are back! The Big Yin will be pleased! Loved the 'scratching my things' quote. At least the boy keeps a sense of humour.LMAO. I have an image that I now need to get out of my head. Bless him. He is a wee sweetheart. LOL.

God bless u, Marat! I still believe sometime in the future it will click in. So please keep trying. I remember the David Latterman show interview after u won US open. you said that the first half of that year was disastrous becuz you couldn't even win a match which made u wanna give up for good. then david asked you what did u do afterwards to succeed. u said, "fighting","start to win one set, then one match, then a tournament......" As I recall, Yankovic told the same senario before she had her break through last year. So, I will support you and don't give up!! And yes, stretch it as long as you can. Tennis is so much more fun with you around. You are such a player that i think I will never find in the future, both your game and your character .................

Thanks for posting the (awfully sad and indeed ) pictures, hun !!! I do miss the pumping fist and the fire in his eyes too I still and will always believe in Marat, i know deep down inside the fighter is there, he even showed it yesterday but i made a decision: i will not get hurt/sad or scared by another loss from the guy ever again!!!!!! It's not gonna help him ,and most certainly not going to make me feel better!!!!! Not that i'm done with following him, never... not a fan of him for that many years already, right .... I'm just done with the sadness about a loss! Btw .... That comment in his interview.... litterally made me ROTFLMAO too!!!! This was indeed a typical Marat interview and i'm really looking forward to the seniors tou in a few years ;D

Come on guys, it's starting to feel like a wake ... tears in my eyes ... Don't keep thinking that way. Life's too short to focus on the negatives. Jeez, I'm really showing my age again. If anybody is entitled to feel tearful, it would be the Big Yin! And he ain't. He's still out there grinding away. He won't be happy knowing that you are getting down, he'd be happier knowing that if he hangs in there and keeps fighting n then the wins will come - and they will- you lot are whooping away, and that you put the losses behind you too. That's the hard lessons in life - 'stuff happens' - to simplify it. Come on, no matter what, sit back and enjoy your last few years with the boy. He's still playing and giving his bit. And he ain't scratching his things more to the point! LMAO.
He can scratch when he hits 30! LMAO.

3 days in and this tournament is taking ridiculous turns already: Safin OUT (well, not THAT unexpected... ) Ljubicic OUT Nalbandian OUT Djokovic OUT Gasquet OUT ...and we're still in the second round! From today on there will be live TV so the next upsets will be broadcasted. Can't wait! Jennifer will have a wonderful day today, I'm sure!

Hi guys - sorry I'm a bit behind on this thread but haven't checked the computer for a few days. Loved reading the interview after Marat lost last week, and I totally agree with maryb that we should all keep being positive - I know I'm not entirely innocent on this charge myself at times. Anyway, just a couple of thoughts about the great man. On all of the forums and particularly in the press, journos and fans alike are going on about how he should give in, retire, hang up his (broken) racquets and just plain quit. For weeks I've been thinking about how he must feel when he reads stuff like this - I can't believe he lives in a total vacuum - and how dejected he must get. I wouldn't really blame him if he did feel like giving up even though that would make me desperately sad. Then you read the interview and you realise that however much he is losing and playing below his best at the moment, the guy still loves tennis, and wants - yes actually wants - to keep on playing. I felt so guilty for having my doubts, however fleeting, about him. Please, please , please keep going Marat and the good times could return at any time. As long as you are enjoying it. And BTW, although losing 5 out of 6 is not good by any means - the Fed Express has even lost 3 out of 8 and he's supposedly the best in the world currently!! Let's all do what Marat says in his interview and give him the credit for keeping on playing with a 3 year long ongoing knee problem - I know I would have quit before now.
