New submissions are always welcome, but if you're interested in writing for TGFR, here are a few things for fan fic writers to remember:
• Marat Safin needs to be one of the main characters
• Don’t use your fan fic as a thinly-disguised soapbox for general rantings and ravings against stuff (the ATP, other Marat sites, other Marat fans, religious viewpoints etc etc) Fans want to read a story, not a list of your opinions.
• Graphic adult content and too much gratuitous bad language will guarantee your story isn’t accepted. In some countries, this kind of content is illegal and it is abusive towards Marat himself, if he is part of your fan fiction. We also have no way of stopping children from reading this board.
• If your fan fiction is accepted and posted, fans from all over the world will be able to read it, so please be sensitive in your writing with regard to other cultures, languages and religions.
• Fan fiction on TGFR is currently in English only (until we find some multilingual fan fic mods ) If you use any kind of slang, please include a ‘normal english’ translation of the word(s). (Usually at the bottom of the chapter)
• All fan fics must be submitted with a title for the story, your name, and an email address for contacting you. Pseudonyms are ok. ;D
• When writing about Marat, or any of the real people in his life (family, friends, management, coaches etc) or on the tour (other players, umpires etc) please do it with respect. Nobody wants to get sued!
• To submit a story, you must be the original writer of the fan-fiction.
• If you haven't been scared off ( ;D) and still want to submit your Marat fan-fic, then contact the board moderator or one of the administrators.
Some of this may sound obvious or strict, but it's based on past experience. We have to be a little responsible sometimes, and make sure you know the score.
