Posting pics (doubts, rules and other stuff)

no hotlinking from the TGFR pics in the "TGFR Collection" threads that you can find in the "Photos Galleries" board here (it is said in those threads, in the first post). If you don´t know what hotlinking is, read the FAQ and the TGFR rules please. I know it´s not your intention, but I´ve been saying this over and over and over again in the last week and a half. PLEASE READ THE FAQ BEFORE POSTING (and TGFR rules)!! It is getting a little tiring writting about this 1 or 2 times a day.... I understand it when this happends for the first time (specially to newbies ), but members were warned in the past, and I won´t hesitate doing it again if it´s necessary, people. And I won´t explain why I modified a post in the future if you`re hotlinking from where it is not allowed. I´ll just do it.

IMPORTANT

I just added a rule to TGFR rules. I thought it was an obvious thing to do, and I hate adding rules, but I finally had to do it....
It´s this one.

Allways give credit (posting the url and/or name of the person) to the site where you found the pics, specially if it´s a fan site and even more if it´s a fan pic (taken by a fan).

I did some changes in TGFR Collection threads (in the first post) to make even more clear what I explained previously about hotlinking TGFR hosted images to other threads.
I made changes in the FAQ too, but it´s about the same issue...


If you have a doubt, don´t hesitate asking.
If you have a suggestion, go ahead!!

And this is important too...

If other Marat Safin site says they don´t want their pics posted ANYWHERE ELSE (for example, the official site or Safinator with their original pics, the ones with the Safinator watermark) DON´T post them or hotlink them, etc, etc, etc
THE ONLY way you can post this images is posting the original links of the pics or (this is a better option) giving the link where all the pics can be found.

For example, post the link of the page, like this... (the best option in my opinion)

or the direct link to the image, like this

maratsafin.com/Admin/spaw/DatabaseImages/shanghai3.jpg


But never hotlink them from their original link (the one from the official site) or, for example, upload them in your Photobucket account, for posting them here.

Hey, this is a question bout adding a pic to be my avatar...if i have a pic on the hard drive of my computer and i want to use that can i? and how...and if not could someone explain to me exactly how you add the custom links...i'm a little confused here...thanks

bia, I am afraid you cannot use photos from your hard disk, you have to upload them on the net first.

Go open an account in www.photobucket.com

Then upload a photo from your hard disk and you will get a URL of the photo, which you paste in your profile and it's done ;D ;D ;D

I'd like to add something if I may. You cannot post watermarked photos at ALL (this includes avatars, signatures and just general posting) because of copyright issues. (Getty images and other watermarked photos are not allowed.) They can sue you for use of their property.

Oh here and there really. I grab them off other people (you save them on your puter as any normaly image and then upload them), some of them I knicked off MTF... ;D
