Hey guys ;D
Your admin was back in action last Sunday during the final day of the Russia-Germany semifinal tie Don't have too much to report but nonetheless there are some things ;D
My loyal companion Lena was as always by my side and after standard preparations in the cafeteria close to the stadium (face painting, flag preparations, etc) we headed to the venue.
Nothing too exciting was happening, so I bought some mags, we roamed around a little, took pics with THE Cup itself ;D
and ran into the one and only Mohamed Lahyani. Funny enough Lena and I were positive he recognised us Was all smiley and sweet as always heading to the court to prepare for the match. A few moments later we decided to go in and find our seats due to the lack of action off court.
For the first time ever a big group of Russia supporters sat together as a group and we had soooooo much fun ;D Chanting and screaming and sharing all the joys and sorrows togethe
But that was later...first and foremost there was Mr. Mo getting the court ready for the game ;D
And then there was us getting readiy for the game ;D
Another shock upon arrival was to see the players for the next match. If Misha was more or less understood since there were rumours of Kolya being sick with a flu but Petzschner was a total surprise!
Next few hours are kind of blurry. When you are there, it just swallows you in. You scream, shout, you live with your boys on court. Misha's match was more a battle of him with himself than anything. Phillip did give us a very good impression though, his serve is very particular but very efficient and some rallies were nice, however Misha's fighting spirit is legendary and that's what helped us level with the Germans a few hours later ;D So it was Russia 2- Germany 2 and we were back to square 1.
In between sets of Misha's match Mr. Mo decided he wants to get off his seat and do some stretching exercises and walk around the court, so the girls and I decided to do something fun. Just the way we always chant RO SSI YA, we started shouting MO HA MED! MO HA MED! The man was in hysterics ;D
By that time we already knew we were TV stars judging by the amount of text messages I had got telling me they are seeing me ;D Hubby phoned to ask whether I had bribed the cameraman or whether he had a crush on me because it was getting ridiculous how many times they were showing our group LOL
Some not too good piccies of Misha, I need to buy a new lense for my new camera. But they are sooooo expensive
So then Igor-Kohlschreiber were up for a deciding rubber
Before the match I was going around taking some pics of Pascal Maria the umpire for one of my cheering pals and suddenly I hear the girls behind me start to chant Pascaaal Maria. You should have seen the poor man!!! He turned bright red to match my t-shirt and started smiling like a shy kid, it was absolutely adorable ;D
Brilliant stuff, truly enjoyed that ;D Despite a bit of drama in the second set. Marat showed up half way through the match and did his best to remain unnoticed, so he went to sit at the very back of the VIP stand. YEAH RIGHT!!!! In a matter of seconds the whole stadium was whispering Marat, Marat.... BUSTED!!!!
By the end of the match our voices were gone, but who cared!!!!! WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were through to the final!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D We all gathered into one tight bundle hugging each other and jumping for joy ;D ;D ;D
After the match the boys went around the stadium thanking the public and our orchestra conductor Mitya decided to throw the ladle he was banging with into the stands. Any guesses who caught it??? Nope, not me... LENA DID ;D ;D ;D We laughed so hard, I thought I would topple over the seat. Imagine going to a tennis match and coming back home with a ladle!!!! ;D This could only happen to us LOL
After the match we hung around a little longer and bumped into Mr. Mo again ;D He was the sweetest thing ever!!!! Smiley as always and thanked us for support and took photos with everyone, really nice guy. Then one of the guys from the fan group presented Mo with some Russian chocolates and he wanted to give them to me and Lena but we said he should keep them. After all we can eat them every day and he should take it home as a souvenir ;D He promised to be back in a couple of weeks for Kremlin Cup YAY ;D ;D ;D
Me and Mo
Lena, Mo and the famous ladle ;D
Mo and Russian chocolates ;D
So we said ou goodbyes and headed outside. Other girls were waiting for us there, they wanted to hang around a little more and maybe try and get some photos and autographs of Tommy and Co. Suddenly mad Lena goes "MARAT!!!!!!!!!!!!" and you just see a whole crowd of girls rushing towards this tall figure LOL
He looked very tired and they weren't helping. He friend got into a car and was urging him to follow but it was mission impossible. I grabbed my camera and decided to take some piccies ;D Little did I know that a girl whom I chat with on the Russian tennis forum was taking pics from the other side and managed to get a shot of Marat with me in the back trying to get my camera ready LMAO ;D Thanks lenny
So I stood a bit on the side next to the boot of the car he was meant to get into together with Lena and took this ;D
Then he started heading towards the boot to put away his bag and we ended up face-to-face. He smiled and said hello. So I asked him how the moutains were and he said it was wonderful there. Lena goes "Better than here?" He smiled and replied "Yeah, better than here...on earth" LOL ;D
I then decided it was take it or break it, so I just very politely asked whether it would be possible for him to pause for a second and for me to take a picture for his fans everywhere to post it on his forum. So he paused and he posed ;D ;D ;D This one is for all of you people from Marat ;D ;D ;D ;D
Then he started rushing to the car trying to escape but it was mission impossible II. Sooooo many girls begging him for piccies and autographs and just as always he was patient, polite and he despite the fact that he was tired and wanted to get out of there, he just stood there, signed and took pics with everyone ;D At one point someone shouted "Marat, are you going to be at kremlin cup?" He said yes but doubts he will play.
Then he finally got into the car and him and his friend drove off
That was the end of our Sunday adventures and we headed to the nearest sushi place to celebrate ;D ;D ;D
See you all in two weeks for new adventure of me, Lena and our TGFR guests: frensje, avalon and kuniochi in Moscow ;D
