The pic is the only one I've found on the itar tass photo agency website. You have to register in the site but don't worry it's free. Mag have posted the link on the Davis Cup thread.

Like I wasn't sad enough about Marat, now I'm being pathetic about his best mate.... Lol Ruth. Funny thread you started here. Not too impressed with that Leanard dude though. He looks a bit too slick too me. Love to hear the stories though.

Erm...actually, it was Magda who started the thread And yeah, Vass, you never did give your reasons for not liking Leonid; now's your opportunity ;D Ok, here's one of the stories about Marat & Leonid. I've been trying to find the link to it on the internet but no luck yet I'll keep trying. Anyway, from memory, here goes: ;D Marat had an expensive white Mitsubishi car (or possibly jeep, i can't remember ) Anyway, it wasn't insured ( : I think it's because it was too expensive to be insured or something like that. So he was driving it around Moscow uninsured! Anyway, Marat was going away to the USA for the US season (this was in 2002 I think......maybe 2003? Oh man, where is that article........??!!) He asked Leonid and Katya (Ekaterina, Leonid's sister) to look after his car while he was away. So Marat left Moscow and allowed Leonid to use it like his own car. Lenya put all his own personal stuff in the car and drove it around Moscow. Marat was still away, and Lenya was going away on tour or to play a concert or something. So Katya was going to have to look after the car. Lenya said to Katya 'I'll lock it in my garage, you come and check on the car every day, to make sure it's safe.' But she said 'No, bring it to my house, I have a courtyard which we can lock the car inside for safety.' So Lenya agreed, gave the car to Katya and left Moscow. The very next morning, Katya looked out of the window and saw the car had been stolen! Not only that, but the expensive alarm system that Marat had specially installed hadn't worked at all ( : and all Marat and Leo's personal stuff was still inside the car Katya was distraught (as you can imagine) and called her father. They went to the police station, and the police said there was still hope as long as the car hadn't left Moscow. If it had left Moscow, it was unlikely they would be able to trace it. But it was a distinctive foreign car and would stand out. (Marat had paid for it to be imported!) But Katya couldn't bring herself to tell Leonid or Marat; she didn't want to upset them. So, instead, the police and the Nerushenko's called a mini-press conference and asked the reporters to put 'wanted' adverts/articles in all the papers for the car, and Katya went on local radio, asking for people to report the car if they saw it. So while most of Moscow were looking for the stolen car, Marat and Leonid had no idea it was even missing! I've no idea if they found it, but I think it's unlikely. I wouldn't like to be Katya when Marat and Leo got home!

I found a little article....i don't know if it's realy interesting... Russia’s biggest lingerie distributor, Dikaya Orkhideya (Wild Orchid), held their 2003-2004 Fall/Winter collection fashion show in Gostiny Dvor on September 24. On June 27, the company celebrated the 10th anniversary of its first shop in Russia, which is located at 9 Petrovsky Bulvar, and just like then, this show was also amazing. This year’s collection, whose advertising campaign was titled "Mechanical Mind," was as memorable as the famous American label Victoria’s Secret fashion show. When the show opened with a brigade of military men and music, the 5000 guests thought it was another terrorist attack. But then it turned out that it was the trick of the show’s director. They chose this beginning because it just so happens that the "military" style is the theme of the Fall/Winter 2003-2004 season. The style influenced most of the world’s fashion collections, and the new season will be totally ruled by the military style. John Galliano follows the trend and uses not only khaki, but also elements of military uniforms (laces, buttons etc.) These aggressive motives are mixed with wild nature images, which have also been popular among the major fashion houses. Roberto Cavalli continues presenting snakes in different formats and shapes, and Naory’s flower garlands represent all the wild colors of tropical jungles. Another demonstration of the total aggression is prevalence of the color red and Millesia and Argentovivo’s topical red combined with black. Absolutely opposite the military theme is the classical theme of femininity. The new collection is based on the polarity of these two styles. Nina Ricci takes us back to thin laces and bows, Versace turns underwear into an evening gown, and Valentino creates a fairy "Christmas" collection, with translucent lace. The third trend this season is the eastern motif. Pictures from kama sutra are striking in Roberto Cavalli’s collection, Blumarine experiments with Japanese motives and Ritratti uses eastern cucumbers on black silk. "Mechanical Mind" attracted the attention of all high-profile fashion folk, who actually always make up the majority of Dikaya Orkhideya’s guests, among whom are fashion designers Yelena Suprun, Julia Dalakian and Masha Tsigal, as well as numerous models and pop band Hi-Fi with their numerous retinue. Head of Russkiy Standart Rustam Tariko was alone – his girlfriend is pregnant and is about to give birth to twins, so she couldn’t be present. But the stars of the evening were none other than woman of the world Kseniya Sobchyak and her new boyfriend Leonid Nerushenko (part of pop music collective Dinamit). They spent the evening hiding from the importunate paparazzi in the darkest corners of Gostiniy Dvor.

Thanks Elisabeth It's quite an old article, though. I wouldn't worry about posting articles like this, because there are so many tiny paragraphs about Lenya appearing at events all over the internet, I don't think there's enough room for them all ;D But feel free to post any news or photos etc. BTW, for all the people who asked me what Lenya is doing now, the answer is.....erm... I don't know! After leaving Dinamit, he was asked to do some one-off appearences and sang during some of Dima Bilan's concerts. Then he just seemed to party during the night and sleep during the day for ages. Some Dinamit fans said that he was going to start a solo career and had performed some of his new work recently in Moscow, and it was quite good But that's all I know.

BTW, I'm going to mention the following article, because it's most likely people will stumble across it when searching on the internet, and I've already had a few worried emails about it. There was an article written in March 2002 in Russian press that Marat & Leonid were in a gay relationship ( : Basically, the article said that they couldn't be just close friends; there must be something more between them. The journalists had followed them at DC practice sessions in Moscow and because Marat & Leonid often sat talking together, messed about in front of the cameras, and disappeared into areas closed to the press, it was assumed they must be gay (again: : There was some pathetic 'photographic evidence' to prove they were gay, consisting of a picture of Leonid grabbing Marat's cuff in a paparazzi scramble (big deal!) and Marat scratching his..erm.... crotch during a DC match that Leonid was watching (therefore they must be gay, right? : Leonid commented on this particular rumour in an interview and said that both he and Marat had been really hurt by the article, and worse, both families had been very upset by the rumour. If you want to read it, a copy of the original Russian article is here: www.erectrofon.gay.ru/rumours/00-17.htm but doesn't have the photos. I'll add the photo version when I can find a link ;D
