By predictions Marat will be No.14 in the world after RG. So I expect this to be his seeding for Wimby! Finally we can expect a proper draw!

Yeah it's something that alot of players complain about, especially when Tim got a high seeding last year, even though his ranking wasn't nearly as good! I think I heard some comentators say it was another reason Spanish players don't go to Wimby also!

They wouldn't seed MArat lower than 16, that's for sure. Why should they?

They wouldn't seed MArat lower than 16, that's for sure. Why should they? They might because they have their own seeding system that takes into account what a player has done in the past 12 months on grass, since Marat didn't play on grass at all last year he won't have any points from that, thus his ranking could drop. I'll try to find the explaination of how Wimby seeding works so you can read it

How the Wimbledon Seeding Formula WorksThe Top 32 players in this week's ATP Entry Ranking are all seeded. Seeded players are then re-ordered by a formula that rewards past grass court performances. The formula works this way: Take Entry Ranking Points at June 16, 2003<-- this date will, of course, change Add 100% of points earned at grass court tournaments in the previous 12 months Add 75% of points from the player's best grass court result in the 12 months before that from last year www.atptennis.com/en/newsandscores/news/news/wimbledon_seeds.aspSince Marat didn't play on grass at all last year and only play Wimby (lost in second round) in 2004 he only gains 3 grass points onto the total number of points he has (currently 1420) So Marat would have (1420 +3 = 1423) 1423 points for Wimby if he doesn't play any touramants between now and then Currently Mark Philippuossis is behind Marat, but if you take all of Marks grass points and add them on it might be enough to pass Marat. And if Gaudio wins RG on Sunday I think he will pass Marat, so Marat is down to number 16 in Wimby seedings. Disclamier: I do not completly understand this so their could be a mistake, my apologies if there is

...and I keep wondering why we've got two wimbledon threads going on here.... ;)Caroline we've progressed, we managed to keep up with a thread that's 29pages long without getting too confused, so now we're trying two different threads to see if we can keep up with that. ;D Any idea when the official entry list for Wimby will be out?-xxx-jes me

Any idea when the official entry list for Wimby will be out? Do you mean the entry list or the draw? The entry list, well, everyone is automatically entered based on rank so everyone above 104 is in the maindraw. As for the draws, well I think they announced the draws a week before Wimby starts so I would think that the draw would be announced on the 14th since Wimby starts June 21

yeah but has gaudio ever done well at wimbledon...i thinketh not That doesn't really matter though, if Gaudio wins RG he will have more points then Marat does plain and simple. Marat has 1420, Gaudio has 1405 (if he wills he will have 1705 i think)

Oh i think it doesn't matter about which seed Marat will have at Wimbledon. The main thing is how Marat will play.Like he didn't have any seed at Aussie Open 2004 and he could play in the final.Do u agree?Anyway, it's just my opinion
