2007 Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year Thread

Our dearest TGFR Members!

Yet another year is close to an end and it's probably time to do a yet another tiny summary

2007 will be remembered by all of us, no doubt about that. What will differ will be the events and things we will remember this year by. Whether it's Marat's lime or mango outfit or his kiss on Grilloti's cheek, whether it's his quest for Himalayas or outrageous t-shirts, despite the fact that the ranking could hardly get any more depressing - we had our bright moments this year. It's pretty impossible not to have them when you are a Marat Safin fan. That is pretty much why we all love him so dearly ;D

For me 2007 will be remembered as a year when I met a number of absolutely amazing people in person. It all started with Annette's (davis) second visit to Moscow in April for DC and my 30th bday, continued with Emma and Sabz in London in May and ended with Dianne (avalon) and Francis (frensje) in Moscow in October. One thing I would be forever grateful to Marat for is for giving me a chance to meet so many fantastic personalities from around the world. Some of you have taken a permanent spot in my heart and have become such dear and close friends even though I still have to meet a rather large number of you

TGFR Admins would like to thank of all our members for keeping this place alive and rocking, for keeping up our reputation of one of the most reliable and diplomatic Marat forums on the net. It is you guys who make this place and we are extremely proud to be a part of something so humanly wonderful

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!!! May your families and loved ones be healthy and happy. May you all have a festive and magical holiday season!!!

2007 for sure had ups and downs, both tennis and non, but 2007 is also when I found this forum, for which I am thankful -- it has been so much fun finding other people that share the passion for tennis (and Marat), and to talk, share, comment on the goings on -- may 2008 bring more fun! ;D

Auld Lang Syne was written by Robert Burns in 1788 and the words 'auld lang syne' literally translates from old Scottish dialect meaning 'old long ago' and is about love and friendship in times past. The words 'and we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet', relate to a drink shared by men and women to symbolise friendship.

Merry Christmas to you all, and a prayer for a peaceful 2008 - and beyond - across the world. I raise my glass to you for happy times (and not so happy times) shared in 2007 and look forward to the surprises that will come in 2008's tennis calendar.

My happy shared memories of 2007 are surviving the rain of Liverpool and Wimbles and keeping my rheumatism in check; the Big Yin's tartan shorts and shopping trip in Katmandu; the girls' Kremlin Cup escapade and seeing the Big Yin/Bird finally get his arse in to the net.

May you and yours have a happy and healthy 2008.

I haven't been around as much as the previous year but you guys have a special place in my heart, this place has a special place in my heart

if the changes in my life that I've started in 2007 become real in 2008, I'll even be less here but I won't give up being a Marat fan for as long as he's around
