Managed to use my saving to treat my whole family a trip to St Petersburg..... WOuld be the 1st family holiday ever since my brother and I "got a life" these days ever since 2000....My parents are very happy now, its nice to put some smile on their faces .......Would be nice to re-cap some wonderful moment back my childhood& catch up with some friends up there.... and its going to snow over there (hope so) ....Can't wait!!!!

Yesterday I got great/ happy news, and had a very, very nice evening
And today it was snowing (didn't stay, it melted almost immediately , since it's not below zero here) AND i've got my new phone........ ;D

today turned out to be an excellent day at work (and that's saying a lot since it was Monday) -- story time ...

A few weeks ago someone brought in a school class ring that they found in the parking lot, thinking that maybe it belonged to someone in our store (local retail educational/teacher supply store). We hung on to it in case someone came by or called. The name of the school is on the class rings, so we called the school so that they could (hopefully) get the message out to the students, but we didn't hear anything back from them, so we didn't know whether they did anything or not. But we kept trying because class rings aren't cheap and we knew that this girl was probably really missing it.

Also on the ring in the graduation year, which was this year. Last week, one of my coworkers mentioned about finding the school's yearbook and looking at the names, as her initials were engraved on the inside of the ring, so we'd just find a matching name. I thought of one better -- every year they print a full page in the paper with every graduate's name -- and did the search that way. Luckily, only one name matched; and when looking in the phonebook, it was a unique last name (made that easy).

Called the family on Saturday, and spoke with the dad -- who was so thrilled that we called and tracked them down. Nice to know our detective work was successful. Then, this morning, in walks this gentleman with a cake (!). Her dad brought us a cake (chocolate) (and plates and forks) as a thank you! And he expressed his thanks for our persistence and detective work in finding them. As if that wasn't enough, the girl came in the afternoon to get her ring and brought us flowers & a thank you card!

Definitely made our day & made us feel good to know that our hard work was so greatly appreciated!

soooo yummy -- and we all have sweet tooth-s for chocolate, so it was definitely greatly enjoyed ;D ... it was just so completely unexpected, and they both were super sweet ... always makes ya feel good to make someone else's day like that -- we were just glad we were able to find her
