Inez in Melbourne saying a big hello to all - am new to posting on the net but have visited this site often in the time since I first saw Marat - winning the Australian Open - seems like a long time ago now!! as an ex-pat from the Red half of Manchester, soccer has always been up there as my number one spectator sport - but Marat converted me to tennis in that epic game against the Fedster to set up the final with Lleyton - and at the time, I was the only one in my group of friends who said that it was going to be Marat's year - and of course the rest is history!! his delightful personality shone through in his post-match interviews especially after the semi-and melted all our hearts!! However,I am sure that at least SOME of his popularity in this great sporting city of ours is based on the fact that he looked so seedy hanging onto the tram AND the trophy in Acland Street the next day - I would like to believe that he had just staggered out of the Espy ( anyone from Melbourne will know what that means!!). However, my favorite Marat image?? well, fluffy white wings, halo, shiny curls and...METALLICA T- shirt is hard to beat - you've just got to love him even when he's fannying about on court like he'd rather be at the dentist as he did today against Becker -and driving us all to shout and scream and tear out our hair.... oh .come ON, MARAT - really, this guy shouldn't be able to live with you! still, all part of life's rich tapestry - I look forward to sharing more chats wth you all over the next months - and remember - Love and Beauty will save the world!!

PS-a small detail perhaps, but I just saw the morning after the night before AO 05 shots again,and realised that they were actually in Fitzroy Street - not far I know - lets hope our Marat didn't get in to too much trouble on Carlisle street in the middle of the night, Eh!!

Hello everybody!! I joined the club only a few days ago but just like Inez I have been a regular visitor of this website since Marat won in Melbourne. I've always enjoyed visiting the website because there is such a good atmosphere amongst you all and I want to thank you for the work and dedication you've put in to it.
