oh agnes Jagudin was my favourite...I loved him!!!! Especially loved that backward moonwalk he used to do..uffff!!! And he's cute, too ;D Jagudin (as many of them do) joined the professional figure skating team and lives and works in America now. He still skates, only in professionals tournaments though, which mostly take place in the States. As for coaching....haven't heard anything I am afraid As for bugging me with questions...sweetie, that's why I opened this thread in the first place, so ask away!!!! ;D

Glad you agree with me, I always loved to watch his performances. And this backward moonwalk....you`re so right, It`s just to adore ;D I think Jagudin was the best when it comes to this "walking on ice " -thing ,hope you know what I mean And at the championships in Moscow once, when he skated people just went completly crazy. It was so lovely to watch Guess he and Plushenko always got the most roses afterwards ... ;D

You`re welcome I´ve always been interested in russia.Since I was a little child this country has somehow fascinated me. Always wanted to know everything bout Lenin or the earlier Tzars as well as `bout the famous places like Moscow . There is just something about this "spirit" that can easily fascinate you, I mean the country`s so big ( it`s on 2 continents... wow and it`s history ( yes,I know that every country has its past and it`s history),even if not everything was nice-just as nearly everywhere- it just has something that is really catching Ok,it`s time to stop this ;D whenever I feel like it`s time to ask something again ( for the 1253time ) I´ll be back LOL

Mariana, yeah figure skating is very popular in Russia. In fact, practically all winter sports are. Pluschenko is a real darling and sooooo talented....the whole country worships him Hockey is popular, sinchronised swimming, football, cross country skiing, athletics and nowadays tennis of course. Especially ladies...the amount of players we have now is like Loads of young girls like Maria Kirilenko, Anna Chakvetadze, etc. and of course Myskina, Dementieva, Sharapova.....very popular. Thank you very much for your answer, Annie I like Jagudin too...he's amazing and I really love to watch his performances too Thanks again

Hope to see you SoOn! good luck! Well there are LOADS....depending on what era you are talking about Marije. I would name the following: 1. Peter the Great (the first tzar to ever be Europe-oriented) 2. Vladimir Lenin 3. Joseph Stalin These are the ones that come to mind as VERY significant

you don't have to answer Annie, but are you pleased with the situation of media in Russia ? what media??? LMAO Seriously??? I stopped buying newspapers, I watch the news once a day in the evening and only buy gossip and women magazines There is no point in buying newspapers, watching political programs, etc. They are all so president-orientated that if anyone starts talking to me about freedom of media in Russian I'd burst out laughing in their faces It's not fun anymore....very low quality boring journalism....most of the time anyway Reminds me of Soviet times sometimes So no...I am not that thrilled but I don't see the situation changing any time soon unfortunately
