Well Marat said he would work with Peter until Wimbledon and now that Wimbledon is over for Marat what do you think is next for them? Do you guys thinkh that they will stay together? I really hope they do, I think that they need longer than this to get some real results from the partnership and assuming that they get on well and work well together I don't see any reason why they shouldn't continue to work together.

I agree, I see no reason why they would split, although Marat hasn't helped convince Peter with his self-induced loss to Tursunov today. Maybe we fans have just placed way too much emphasis on Wimbledon - it obviously doesn't mean anything to Marat at all - in his mind there are probably only 3 Grand Slams and Wimbledon isn't one of them So that fact that he lost in the first round is most probably a minor inconvienence - he seems to be aiming for the US season and the grass season is just something he has to get through before the 'good times' start *fingers crossed* So I'm pretty sure Peter knows this and is willing to continue the coaching until the end of the year because that's when Marat has said he's going to start getting some results. Lets hope so!

yesterday wasn't exactly very encouraging for the partnership and...hmm... as ME and I discussed, it's hard to change marat's ways so... they might have a sit down session to thrash things out and... personally, i want them to continue for a while longer, AT LEAST. so that THEY can see the full effects of the partnership.

Lets hope so! Well, I quit hoping. And are you sure the US season is going to be great with this kind of attitude continuing for some time now? He "didn't feel like playing" in Hamburg already, and against Mr. Potato Nobody No. 200 it was a disgrace. He's just making excuses in public and said that at the press conference, about the US season I mean (what else could he say - "I quit tennis, I have no expectations for the hard court season"?) but what's actually going on behind the scenes I'm starting to wonder!!!!!!! His fitness is NO GOOD at all, he wasn't working before RG as he should have and he paid for that, I hope he gets the grip of whatever the problem is. As you Ruth mentioned Ivan L. somewhat ironically said that Marat's going back to Moscow all the time now - I really wonder about that. He doesn't really train there!!!!!! Not but At least I have no fingers crossed any more and no expectations at all, maybe it's better this way! AND I'm not mad at all, don't get me wrong!

Well I agree with what Jiat said, I don't think there's much a coach can do about the state of mind he has. And I honestly don't think he really wants to change. Still I see no reason for the two to go their seperate ways.

I think that Peter has improved Marat's game in some aspects, and I think that even though Marat had an early round loss at Wimbledon they will stay together until, well, Marat's starting to have some REALLY bad results

I agree with Steph, Ruth and Jiat. The results haven't been really good until now but Peter knows (we all do) that Marat doesn't like grass so he was conscious that good results couldn't come on this surface... and for RG, i think you're a little bit severe Maria, the blisters looked very awful. Here on tv guy forget said it's really, really hard to play with blisters and as he said: usually you have not so many of them so it must have been a nightmare for Marat ! What he said on the interview after his defeat sounds good. He seems okay to continue with Peter. So i hope Peter is also okay, and will help me... but not for his mind. To join 'Me', i really think that on this question we have to accept he won't change... Marat is Marat... that's why we love him, no?

It might not mean anything, but Peter seemed to like what he saw during RG. Coaches usually don't show a lot of emotion, but Peter was almost clapping his hands off at some points.
