hey everyone!!! there's this poll by the russian GQ magazine for person of the year and lah dee dah... and marat's nominated. and so's nastya...so vass can have fun... problem is, the page and the poll are both in russian. and babelfish comes out with the most hilarious things. so... i'm no sure how we're gonna vote. plus...i've no idea who the ppl in the other categories are. i only know...marat, nastya and alexander popov and misha youzhny and most of the ppl on the "international" list i know...so...... vass... need us to help u vote for any person in particular? or should i ust click randomly? here's the link by the way... www.gq.ru/actions/voting.xml |

maybe u have to vote on the original russian site. but since i can't understand a thing on that. i couldn't vote either.
guess we'll have to leave it to those who understand the language... *looks at VASS, TATIANA, OLYA*

LOL Jiat, of course I speak Russian!!! Well, the compulsory info you have to submit before voting: First (Christian) name Surname Sex - male female Age E-mail City Address The last field = phone you don't have to write. So if you want to volunteer this info about you you can vote. Well, seems it's for the Russians only indeed (>I mean they asking only the city). They are going to give 5 Motorola V500 phones as prizes to voters (like in lottery if you understand) and invite one person to the award ceremony. Plus there are 100 GQ polo shirts as prizes. The ceremony will be held in September. I leave it to people in Russia to ask you to vote for certain people and make up addresses for you. |

thanks for the tip vass! and i AM a webmonkey...  haha...anyway, if it interests u to know, i found it on wtaworld. the ppl there were actually trying to get votes for NASTYA (which u'd have voted for anyway) but i went, got the page translated and found marat too!! anyway, there's this author that's been nominated. and the bbabelfish translation of his name reads "Edward of the Lemons" or sth like that...got me laughing so hard...i think i'll vote for him just cos of that. and i think i saw the name of the director of "the return". and one last thing VASS & MARIA!!! please help us keep a look out for the results!!! thank you!!! |

Well, Jiat - the writer's real name is Eduard Limonov hence the Lemon thingy > Limon (Russian) = Lemon (Eng.). I must say I haven't really red any books by him but from the Russian media I know he's an ultra nationalist-shovinist (leader of the National Bolshevik Party) so I personally wouldn't vote for him.  OK, I'll leave it to the people who actually live in Russia to elaborate. |
