I don't know the time-frame/logistics of this but I know Sergei's contract for the domain www.maratsafin.com didn't end until this summer and the management have been waiting to buy it for the official site. That's one of the reasons it's taken so long, I think. The www.marat-safin.com domain was registered a few years ago as back-up in case they couldn't get maratsafin.com. When the website is finished, I reckon they'll probably re-direct marat-safin.com to point to the same site. I'm afraid it's nothing to get too excited about  When they start doing test pages, then we can get excited ;D |

Yeah, checked out the marat-safin site, and as Vass said, it only said Marat Safin's site.
And Ruth is right, no point getting over excited until we actually see the progress.

Wasn't Sergei once approached by marats managament about the website?  ?? Must have been 2 or 3 years ago, I'm losing track of time And I thought Sergei quit the site cos he didn't have enought ime or something. Gosh I loved that site....... |

The msg board tehre wa slike my home at the time, hahahahaha. SPent way to much time on it, or maybe I just had more time then I have now.
And I forgot who it was, but someone had a pic of the O.C. (tv serie). I love that serie, it's ontv here now and I just have to be home to watch and otherwise I tape it, how pattatic.

I was told it was the other way around, and Sergei approached the management to become official back in 2000 [?]. They all met up at the Rotterdam tournament but for some reason Sergei was turned down. That's about all I know. He carried on with the site, as we know (I used to go there all the time too...ah, those were the days.....  and then gradually I think his life changed and personal stuff took priority, so maratsafin.com was kind of abandoned If I remember right, there was major problems on his message board towards the end - lots of trolls posting rubbish and causing lots of pain and arguments. I think that's why Christine set up safinators message board initially (before the website appeared) as a haven for the old maratsafin.com regulars to continue their discussions. |

YEah I remember that he was talking tings over in rotterdam and then never heared about it any more. And yeah there were major discussions and arguments on the msg board. I remember I decided not to post on msg boards anymore. Weird things is I can't even remember what it was about, all I know it was something really unfair. But that was at least 2 years ago, since then I've been getting my info here. So he it's about time for a regular visit to the msg board. I'm glad you want to put all the hard work into Ruth (with all the others) |
