I wouldn´t worry about his ranking right now. If he`s healthy and can play tennis, his ranking will improve He has been there before (even much worst ranking).

your right lau something like 83 at the beginning of last year. Anyway the champions race is irrelevant now as he did qualify for Shanghai, but he has suffered and will not play. As fot his Entry standing he should still be in the top 10 at the end of the year, i hope. Which is great considering he missed and lost points for 4months or so. But he will be back come next year.

We have a new end of year no 1 Russian. That might sound strange, but it means pro Russian male tennis improved in the last couple of years ;D

Final rankings after Shanghai TMC Marat finishes the 2005 season 12th. Not much change in top 4, Rafa stormed in this season...Kolya Davydenko takes the number 5 spot followed by a new number 1 in Argentina and the new TMC champ David Nalbandian. And the top ten finishes with Ljuibicic, Coria, Gaudio and Agassi Great season for many...great one for Marat, too apart from the injury. Grand slam winner anyway www.atptennis.com/en/players/championsrace/

Maybe a weird question but i don't really understand this ranking stuff with points......i mean Roddick and Hewitt didn't exactly play alot of matches/tournaments the last couple of weeks, how come they finish 3rd and 4th?

last couple of weeks are last couple of weeks, there was a whole season before that. They were both in GS finals this year and had quite an OK year on the whole. Consistency is all that matters throughout the year, last couple of weeks are just a little piece in a pile

shacks, I quoted your message here and deleted the other thread because it was about the same topic as this one just found this article about the rankings and everything going on with it: www.theadvertiser.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5936,17989274%255E12428,00.html Quite hard to take, but marat is a very good player, so he'll get right up there with all our prayers and support. PS: I hadn't posted anything for quite a time, but your support is just amazing, it made these dull days a little better, so congratulation for all of you!
