his this week ranking ...no.97... ..... Oh, it's not quite that bad - he's No. 90... The rest of the bunch: ATP ranking, March 24th, 20081 Federer, Roger (SUI) 6550 0 2 Nadal, Rafael (ESP) 5705 0 3 Djokovic, Novak (SRB) 5280 0 4 Davydenko, Nikolay (RUS) 2710 0 5 Ferrer, David (ESP) 2640 0 6 Roddick, Andy (USA) 2160 0 7 Nalbandian, David (ARG) 2100 0 8 Gasquet, Richard (FRA) 1885 0 9 Blake, James (USA) 1800 0 10 Berdych, Tomas (CZE) 1685 0 11 Youzhny, Mikhail (RUS) 1545 +2 12 Tsonga, Jo-Wilfried (FRA) 1534 +5 13 Murray, Andy (GBR) 1525 -2 14 Robredo, Tommy (ESP) 1520 +1 15 Canas, Guillermo (ARG) 1505 +1 16 Mathieu, Paul-Henri (FRA) 1495 -2 17 Baghdatis, Marcos (CYP) 1485 +1 18 Gonzalez, Fernando (CHI) 1445 -6 19 Monaco, Juan (ARG) 1425 +2 20 Karlovic, Ivo (CRO) 1425 0 21 Moya, Carlos (ESP) 1410 -2 22 Hewitt, Lleyton (AUS) 1370 +2 23 Ferrero, Juan Carlos (ESP) 1360 -1 24 Ljubicic, Ivan (CRO) 1305 -1 25 Almagro, Nicolas (ESP) 1255 0 26 Nieminen, Jarkko (FIN) 1210 0 27 Kohlschreiber, Philipp (GER) 1170 0 28 Stepanek, Radek (CZE) 1090 +1 29 Wawrinka, Stanislas (SUI) 1080 +6 30 Verdasco, Fernando (ESP) 1050 0 31 Chela, Juan Ignacio (ARG) 1025 -3 32 Andreev, Igor (RUS) 985 -1 40 Fish, Mardy (USA) 790 +58 90 Safin, Marat (RUS) 475 -2 The Top 32 players are the ones receiving a Seeding and therefore a first round Bye in Miami. The winner of Miami receives 500 points (being in the final still gives you 375 points), so if Marat can pull a Mardy the two of them can shake hands in the 40s. ;D Not that it'll happen...

Geez, stay positive ;D! Geez, don't tell me how to feel... But you do have a point - this is a Safin fansite which means people who post here should be supportive. I love the guy to death but I think he plays crap at the moment, and I don't see the point of closing my eyes to that and constantly pretend that everything will turn around 100% at the next tournament. That doesn't mean I expect him to crash out in the first round again, but I definitely don't believe he can reach a final at this stage, and that's all I hinted at. Anyways, in order not to annoy everyone with my scepticism, I won't throw it on you guys anymore and stop posting for a while. Bye!

LOL If anything were over positive coz i mean were supporting a guy who has only won one match this year all be it injuries, flu blah blah and are trying to keep our heads up and still have the belief when in hindsight we should be in the gutters moaning and crying etc about his form. I think the word what davis and myself are is realistic! We all now his best is past him (god and marat please prove me wong) but we still hope for good times ahead. That's all we ask for.

Guys...there's nothing wrong with being positive. It doesn't really mean that we're wishful thinking or over optimistic...we see and understand that not everything is perfect...ditto with Marat's performance and all...we just want to exude the positive energy...coz really, it's what the world needs right now...

Agree. I know his game and performances aren't really what we hoped for but I like to think positive. Being realistic and thinking positive are two different things. On one hand he plays crap at the moment, I know, but on the other hand: I believe he can still do it and pick up the game again he played before. I believe he thinks so too, otherwise I don't think he would be playing right now.. !

I was just annoyed by Anne's comment to my post. I'm allowed to have my own opinions and I don't need to be reprimaneded for them, whether it was meant in a funny way or not. I mean, I don't write "Geez...don't be so positive " after reading what you girls said. Get it? If not, I can't help it. Well, I posted again after all, oops.

I get both of your points. And i understand how davis must've felt reprimanded for her opinions. I think though, that Anne didn't mean to make it sound as such. (i'm not sure, maybe you can verify Anne). But, suppose Anne could've put it in a nicer way...
I suppose too, if I were davis i would've felt the same way. After all, we are all allowed to have our thoughts or opinions so long as they are not malicious.
I think this is just a simple misunderstanding. So, I appeal to you both...We're all "friends" here, let's forgive and respect each other.
I think this is healthy in any "relationship" though. There's nothing that can't be resolved peacefully with a cool discussion.
