Still don't have internet access nor cable at home. Stayed at the office until 8pm, AO just began..... Today, I woke up early to find out that Marat already lost......and reading the itw Ya, Mary is right, chin up, Marat! You have tried! Tennis is always fun to watch, but not gonna be the same without Marat around to me. Anyways, good luck, Marat. Hope to see you in some other tourney this year. I really look forward to that. Fingers crossed that my new job will allow me to take a week off to watch you play (the last time? ). Thank you guys for the itws and piccies.

Wow... his eyelashes in the last picture are amazing! I mean, he always looks amazing but I never realized they were so long.. I've yet to find a feature on this man that isn't truly perfect... it's a little sickening. lol Regarding the match, I share the same sentiments as everyone else here. After watching it, I felt deflated, mainly because the first two sets just blew by him - I personally think he was nervous. The third set was just fantastic, and proved to me (and hopefully him) that he can still keep up with the big boys, he just needs to keep his confidence in check. I was proud of him in many instances - he seemed to play Roger better this time - even some of his errors were shots that would have been great - he seemed to be doing the right things, just missing... I am praying every day I'll get to see him in Miami... I imagine that will be a tourney he'll want to participate in, as he seems to love that city. It will be the only opportunity I'll ever have to see him live. a few more pics can be found here, btw: www.corleve.com/gallery/7167208_VoBXS#P-1-15

i have a feeling that this won't be his last AO... Same here. Maybe we're just too optimistic. But still, I think even the crowd didn't take him for serious

(at 8-all, commentators suggest there be no loser, and since they both have various pains they should team up and play Rafa 2-on-1 LOL ) Round of 16 Nadal v Gonzalez Monfils v Simon Murray v Verdasco Blake v Tsonga Roddick v Robredo Baghdatis v Djokovic Del Potro v Cilic Berdych v Federer Doesn’t get much better than that … ;D

Cant view this in the USA for some reason - ridiculous... hopefully someone will post on youtube at some point BTW, I'm having the same problem - I can't watch the vids (probably thanks to some British license restriction ). Can anyone please upload them and share? Or indeed put them on YouTube? Mats and Marat - how lovely!!! I actually saw the itw on German TV during the match, but German Eurosport didn't put it on its website. I'll happily do the upload if one of you can instruct me on how to download videos from the eurosport site...

tourney got a bit wacky in the 4th round: *Jelena out (following Venus and Ana) *Dinara and Federer escaping by a hair *Dokic marathon ... *Leads to another late night show for Marcos with Novak *Day 8 was retirement day: Jie Zheng (wrist), Azarenka (illness), Monfils (wrist) - bummer *Verdasco beats Murray in 5 (!) ... spoiling an 8-for-8 Top 8 QF (7 out of 8 ain't too shabby though ) Women's QFBartoli v Zvonereva Safina v Dokic Suarez Navarro v Dementieva Kuznetsova v Williams Men's QF Nadal v SImon Verdasco v Tsonga Roddick v Djokovic Del Potro v Federer

You don't kick Marat out of the tournament to lose in the next round As for Verdasco, 'the sexiest man alive' did it again LMAO ;D Winning Davis Cup I bet gave him heaps of confidence. Davai Dina today, she is going to need it to beat both an on fire Dokic and the Australian crowd!

t *Verdasco beats Murray in 5 (!) ... spoiling an 8-for-8 Top 8 QF (7 out of 8 ain't too shabby though ) Before the tournament I was hoping for a Nadal v Murray final and I actually thought Murray could win it. I would have been going for Murray in this match however after an incident at Kooyong and also at the AO I changed my mind and are now a fully fledged Verdasco supporter!! [the long hair used to put me off]. I know this is a Marat Safin board but I also know Fernando has some detractors so I thought I would post it [sorry Annette ;D ;D]. On Saturday I was lucky enough to sit just next to Fernando's players box during his game against Stepanek [ - another saga for another time]. Without realising, a Mum and her son, sat in Fernando's box [before play started] and then mum went off to get some food. When his 'entourage' came to sit down, including Fernando's quite handsome Dad - according to a friend of mine - they said to the boy that this is where they were to sit. You could see the boys lip quiver when he tried to explain he didn't know and his mum had gone off and he was told not to move by her until she returned. So they let him stay, one got out his mobile and said to the boy to try to call her. When he couldn't get through he offered to go with him to find his mum - by this stage Fernando had started playing. A couple of games went by [they were long games] the boy and friend/trainer/hanger on [quite cute I may add] came back. Again they gave him a mobile to try and call her and boy kept looking up in the hope mum would show up. When she did - from the wrong entrance, ladden with food and drinks - they helped her hold the food and took the drinks so she wouldn't drop them. The boy explained they were in the wrong seats and had to move [by this stage some of his entourage were sitting in the aisle as there weren't enough seats] and mum thanked them for looking after him. There was a big AWHHH all round from all the females close by and a new admiration, on my part for Fernando [or Fer as his Papa calls him ]. At Kooyong I heard the same thing from a kid and his Mum and also a Spanish couple, that he signed autographs for everyone and had his photo taken. Also during Feli's 4 hour epic Fernando sat through the first couple of sets [in 40 degree heat] supporting his friend. I think I have found someone to replace Marat in my affections
