Roger can now have a nice vacation (and recoup) ... and hopefully Andy's effort won't come back to bite him tomorrow ... He got bitten. Badly ... almost lost both legs. Davy Boy ran him into the ground. Good tactics I guess. The better player won on the day. Some nice rallies. Stop smiling Mrs Annie! I hope Davy Boy beats Noely tomorrow. ;D He's such an underrated player. Time he won something big again. I'm stll heartbroken that Maestro never got through though. Hope he gets his head together again in the New Year.

Caught the end of Simon-Novak ... another nailbiter - Gilles was close, but bravo to him for his year. I hope Davy Boy beats Noely tomorrow. ;D I second that - greatly! *crossing fingers* Please Nikolay! Doubles Final: #1 v #2 - Bob & Mike v Nestor & Zimonjic ... for all the marbles (Year End #1)

some press gems ;D
Q. Was there any stage in the match when you considered quitting? ROGER FEDERER: I don't quit once I step on court. Guess you got to drill me one in the eye, then maybe. But otherwise I don't quit.
Q. Did you play with your own racquet tonight? RADEK STEPANEK: Yes, it arrived actually 10 minutes before my match, a few minutes. I was warming up still with Novak's racquet. When I started to serve that bad, I was thinking of taking out his racquet and mine put back. No, I'm joking. Definitely, you know, once you have your racquet, your stuff, it's feeling better. You know, the whole story this week was quite funny and for me quite, on the other hand, quite sad that I got my life chance to play Masters Cup and don't have my own stuff.

sigh ... will give Novak some props (and bookending his year is a pretty cool stat), although the awful TV coverage hit a new low when the final wasn't even on TV! (which is just as well, giving his steamroll) a little bummed for Bob & Mike too, but Nestor & Zimonjic were smokin' and well deserve the title and year end #1 (Bring it on, 2009 ;D) ... and best wishes to Nestor & Zimonjic, too, who will both be first time dads in December (Z's wife is expecting twins!)
